If we could have a show of hands please, for those who have wives/gfs/or any form or sort of old lady, how do u manage to go to LOS without wrecking the relationship?
Some will go under the pretext of work this, business that, but what about the others?
I know I've snuck out before and there was hell to pay.
Your views?

not quite an answer to your question,but a quandry to me.
i have always gone to LOS as a single man.
but now i am spending time with a filipino girl,a good girl,university educated and a trained nurse.
but she had no idea of the bar scene in her country.
she comes from Angeles city,and from what i understand,it is the same sort of place as Pattaya,Phuket and certain areas of Bkk.
are Thai girls oblivious of what happens in certain area's of their country ? ,i'm talking of GTG's.
i think i know who would have the best answer to this question.

Nokna, I think that some are and some aren't. It's a matter of what they're exposed to. Our nanny was shocked at some of the stuff she saw in Bangkok, and quite embarassed by the whole thing. She was young, from a good family and had never been away from "Ban Nok" when she came to work for us.
My wife knows that the stuff exists, and even told me she first lived on a street in Bangkok, when she was young, that had all of the massage places. I'm pretty sure she was talking about Ratchada. But although she knows that stuff exists she didn't really know how the system works. I've explained some things to her, and other areas I've been less than forthcoming.

I think you'll find a lot of them despite having an idea what goes on, would be very surprised to know that somewhere like Eden exits...or that some of their fave models / TV stars could be available for P4P. I think there would be a fair few BG's surprised about Eden, Star of Light,Kangaroo etc....and would never consider working in such a place.....

Interesting question, but I don't think you are going to get much of a response to your question bases solely on how information that has been posted in the past has been used. I should say lack of privacy, but I know that someone will post that posting anything on a forum means you are giving up your right to privacy.
Anyways, just look at the whole "I hurt someone" or "I did not hurt someone" threads.
Wish things were like the old days and then you would've gotten plenty of responses.

ABC, I'm not sure I follow your post at all. I don't think you can expect a huge response right off the bat because it is a question targeted at a small group of people. I don't think in the "old days" there were a bunch of guys willing to step up and admit they were sneaking out on their SOs either and the ones who would have aren't going to be scared off by the recent "privacy" crusade.
Anyway, I've heard tales of guys who come to Thailand just for cheap golf or fishing vacations. I don't know if the wives truly believe it or just accept it to save face.

What I am saying is after all the junk that has been going back in forth in some of the threads, I don't think that many members are going to volunteer that kinda of personal information.
And ... yes. In the old days, when the forum was smaller, the members were much tighter with one another and would share more either posting or through PM's.
But ... to answer his question. Any excuse can be used on a significant other to cover up any behavior.

Well, the trick is to actually have a business need to go there. Otherwise this indeed might be a hard sell. Another tactic I might take would be to take the family there to visit relatives, and maybe put in some "work" in BKK while they are down south. Of course that's probably an even smaller sub-segment of the Board that can pull that one off.

I really don't see why volunteering that info now is any different than it was 3 months ago. Do you think some zealot is going to "expose" all the members of this forum to prove a point?
If someone posts too much info and a friend or co-worker happens upon it is one thing. To maliciously try to destroy other people's lives is another.

I hope it would never come down to any information posted destroying a members life.
But ..... the information on this forum has been used by some members for malious intent. This may make members more gun shy from posting personal informaiton especially the type of information that could really damage a marriage.
But ... I will hold out hope that members will feel confident and secure and respond to this members question.
And ... a year ago, I will say that things and circumstances in the forum were drastically different then now.
