Several of the expats I met in Pattaya said the TG don't like facial hair. My friend and I both have beards and had no trouble get the BG to accept payment so I suppose they were talking about selecting girlfriends.
Any brothers care to comment or share experience?

During Song Kran the TG's couldn't keep their hands off my beard. Of course they were smearing talcum powder paste in it. That's the first place they went! 5555!

A couple of trips ago I had decided to start shaving my head a few weeks before the trip. This was a long trip, and included a week in Cambodia, where I found that the cheap guesthouse I stayed in didn't have any US compatable electric outlets, so I had to conserve my remaining charge in my shaver. I let a smll beard grow, and just use the shaver to trim. When I got back to LOS, I re-shaved my head, and trimmed the beard down to a goatee. I decided to keep it for the rest of the trip just because I used to love my beard, but have had to be clean shaven for my job for a few years now.
Well, when I got to Pattaya, many of the girls I had known from previous trips teased me, calling me ba-ba ba-bo for shaving my head, but not my face.  "Why no hair here, but hair here?" I'd just smile and stroke the goatee, which would make them giggle.

I can share the same experience that TGs do not like facial hair. Since I only trim my facial hair, I have received several remarks concerning this. But so far I could not be bothered to shave my facial hair completely when I do not feel for it.

Do Thai girls comment on after-shave lotion at all? I've always found that women love the smell of a good after-shave - it also covers up halitosis really well if you use a lot of it.

tg's in general prefer well dressed, shaven and good smelling guys. if these specifics are not availbale they will certainly close an eye or two on beardy, to casually dressed bad smelling farangs as the smell of money will always be the best!
anyway if you want to improve your chances with the ladies of thailand you better shave, use after shave, deodorant and have nice clothes. also a non bearded face makes most poeple look younger in general!
