I have been to LOS four times over the past year... each time for about ten days each. During my last trip in Thailand I found myself sort of bored with "whoring" everyday. I know it sounds silly but it just got old after awhile. Well I decided to take some time off from visiting LOS but I am returning in August for ten days and am wondering how to make my trip more fun... any suggestions or similar experienxces let me know. Also, for those of you that live there does the scene ever get old and do you look at LOS (specifically the P4P scene) differently than when you arrived in Thailand for your first trip? Thanks!

There is a lot more to LOS than just BKK. There is an abundance of culture,history and beauty. There are incredible beaches and awesome jungles to be explored. There are some amazing temples to be seen and fascinating people to be met. There is the mountain country to the north.
Learn about the country,the history and the culture. It makes everything else that much more interesting.And a side benefit....Imagine the conversations that you can have with the ladies when you do decide to get back into the "scene". It could go a long ways toward helping you to establish that magical "click" with the lady of your choice.

Think for sure the P4P scene can eventually lose its appeal, but after 10 days !!! guess it depends on what girls you end up with, certainly they can make the trip interesting or not, and of course the range in not only performance, but style, companionship etc amongst P4Ps can vary greatly, - If you do manage to get a freelancer, who perhaps becomes a little keen on you, and shows you around the place, it is much more interesting, going to a temple for example is pretty boring, but if you have a TG explaining some of the many beliefs, reasons for doing certain things, ringing the bell, shaking out the numbered stick, getting the monk to sprinkle water on you etc, it takes on a different meaning. Likewise a trip up-country is a real eye-opener, but again, to appreciate it, and see things from the Thai perspective, you really need to go with a TG. Another thought, if bored, dont chase them, just let them come to you, or watch others, sitting at a footpath stall just outside Thermae between 12-2am for example, is very cheap, and can be very entertaining - 'the opera of the street' as a frenchman once aptly called it -

I can identify with your plight. Second-to-last time I visited LOS as a tourist, it was for a whole month - and by the end of it, I was certainly getting bored. Altho spectacularly lazy and self-indulgent by nature, I found that day after day after day of lazing on the beach, bonking an apparently inexhaustible supply of gorgeous young women and eating wonderful food was becoming... well, tedious. Too much non-stop gratification. That was the one & only time I was actually quite glad to fly back to work (and some intellectual stimulation) in Farangland.
OK, well it was a temporary effect. The next time I was in LOS, it was only for a relatively brief stopover, and that was fine. Even so, if this jaunt had gone on for much longer, I think ennui would have set in again.
What transformed LOS for me was getting a job in BKK. Suddenly, you have places you need to go and things you need to do, and the city becomes 'yours' in a way it can't be if you're a self-conscious outsider free to do whatever you want to kill time. Anyway, I found that the P4P scene and the BGs took on a whole new lease of life once they no longer dominated the day. There's a lot to be said for working hard AND playing hard, which I personally find more satisfying than just playing. That starts to feel a little ridiculous if it goes on for too long.
I think there are ways to replicate this as a tourist. For example, there are plenty of courses to do and charity projects to get involved in - whatever takes your fancy. If nothing else, something like this might give you a proper reason to get up in the morning, and it would help establish Thailand as a real place inhabited by real people, not just an adult playground.
Of course, I'm not suggesting for a second that you shouldn't chase all the skirt you want as well. You may just find that you get a lot more out of the BGs if they don't define your whole reason for being here.

well said arcadius,
i am here in bkk for about 4 years and never had the impression to get bored. but only a week on lets say samui makes me tiered too!
it has to do a lot with wethre you are engaged in a daily routine and also have some friends around who can give you a certain stimulation.
i am not tired at all of the huge bangkok scene and the thousand new things i still discover every day. even now there are so many places i never went to or i have never seen in bangkok and the rest of the region.
as long as you have a little work to do and can reward youlater with some nice drinks somewhere in a nice company, hell that is and will be always real life for me!

Too true.
When they finally invent the teleporter, the best solution for tourists will probably be a long weekend in LOS once a month throughout the year.
FAR better than an annual 3-week blitz, leaving the poor sod shagged out half-way through & secretly fearing that if he sees one more naked cutie clinging onto a pole, he's going to start screaming.

For ten days eh:
Hop a plane to Phuket
take diving lessons, go on dives.
go on elephant treks.
go to the shooting range/elephant/monkey show.
visit temples, tithe and get blessed.
Shop
More shopping
Take a cooking class.
Rent a car, go on a day adventure.
Visit the orphanage, tithe.
Visit the Aids Hospice, tithe.
Just ideas friends, I did some of these adventures, and enjoyed.

Agree that there is a lot to do. Phukett for sure, especially if you are a scuba diver. Even Pattalya for scuba diving (Gee, bet you guessed I am a scuba diver). Venture into Cambodia.... but take the southern entrance in, and into Shinaokville (can't spell). Up North into Chaing Mai, into Laos etc.... Very interesting.... Frankly, I have been to BKK 3 times, and have never stayed in the city for more than 5 or 6 days at any one time.
