Hello all -
Ever slipped off to slumber after some fine boom-boom with you LT, only to be awakened an hour or so later by her cell phone playing some idiotic tune when it rings for her?
Then she jabbers away in Thai for the next few minutes, while you're wondering who she's talking to.
"It's for you dear, must be your boyfriend calling."
"No have boyfriend!" Yeah, sure.
Then afterwards, it's usually her sister or friend calling -in the middle of the night, of course.
Who's she REALLY talking to?
Some hypothetical examples:
"Yes, dear,I know you're late with your motorcycle payment, I promise I'll have the money for you tomorrow."
"What! Dad wants some more whiskey? I just bought him a case last week!"
"Yes, honey, I know you want me back tonight, but this falang still has money left."
This is where some knowledge of Thai would definitely be an asset, especially if your "date" didn't know. I know some of the girls phone each other to make sure they're okay with their clients, but you have to admit, these devices CAN be annoying. These things must really be cheap in the LOS, because everyone seems to have one.
Any other viewpoints out there?

Sometimes, that call is from her sister who just happened to finish work in a club. Had a girl once, sister was calling her as she didn't have the room key, and we were in the middle of it.
It is also possible that her Thai boyfriend is telling her where to meet him after she finishes.
Knowledge of Thai alone is not enough, when they know you understand Thai (central dialect), they will go into Isaan (NorthEastern dialect) mode or use the Southern Dialect.

Many a time I have been disturbed by previous/existing
farang/thai customers or boyfriends feeling lonley! I think this thai boyfriend myth is over done, some of the girls in the upmarket MP's and CB's have black books bigger than mine!

The cell phones can be very annoying!! Also with the caller id, many thai people let their phone ring and ring while they try to figure out who is calling. Another datapoint is that if they just push end on the phone the caller gets a busy signal. Unlike in the U.S, when pushing end will direct the caller to voice mail. Inorder for the caller to get the voice mail, the phone must ring and ring. Which sucks!!!
As for the ladies. When I have asked them who is calling, some have told me the truth, I think!! They have said that it is another customer wanting to know if she if free. I just smile and say "it's cool". They usually will turn off the phone after that. Lucky me!! ha ha ha!!

Actually the phone can be diverted to their voice mail directly without ringing (I do that sometimes), if they know how to set it up. It can also go to the voice mail if it was busy. Most of these girls don't bother with these things, either lazy, not bothered or just the lack of knowledge.

Thanks!! But, once the phone is ringing, there is no way to send it directly to the voice mail service, is there?? Like pressing the (end) key on the phone. A couple of the females did set their phone not to ring and to roll directly to their voice mail. It's those people that don't set this up because, as you said are lazy or lack of knowledge that bothers me!! It's like those people that get phone calls in the movie theater. Turn the phone off people!! ha ha ha!!

Guys
I think you should make sure that the phone is switched off.
It is a fairly common trick for the girl to get a phone call which means she has to leave, rather than stay for the agreed LT. OK you can refuse to pay the agreed fee, but this isn't really an answer.
I havn't had to face this myself but I know guys who have. So make sure the phone is off.

This is just one more reason why LT really doesn't appeal to me... I mean I like the idea of having a little brown angel snuggling up with me in bed, but I also kind of feel like after a long day of massages, bar hopping and HJ/BJs that the hotel is going to feel like a needed break from the sensory overload.
Cell phones are a real issue for me, so if I decide to do LT, that'll be discussed ahead of time.
Guys, any comments on keeping the hotel room for good solid sleep rather than more sanuk?

I also use the hotel room as a refuge from all the day to day activities. Call me crazy, but I even request twin beds. This way, when I do bring a lady back, I use one bed for the activies and if the lady wants to snuggle and the other bed for me to sleep in. ha ha ha!! I try not to have the ladies stay the night either. Complicates things in the morning, when she asks to either stay the day with me, or see me later on that evening.
I have also had problems with some ladies trying to reach me by calling my room at odd hours asking if they can come and stay with me. So, I am also very carefull on which ones I bring back, as well as blocking all incoming calls from BKK!!
