After doin' the deed with my LT this morning, I'm ready to crash, but she wants dinner at the sidewalk stalls (eventhough it's 3 AM). We run into her best friend there, a real stunner from another Pattaya Gogo, whom I'd just happened to sleep with the night before. Oh, they thought that was just SO funny. I had to stand there like an idiot while they gave each other 'high fives' and talked about me in Thai. I couldn't even enjoy my meal because all the other women there were staring at me. LT2 wants me to go back with LT1, "she's my friend", she says.
I don't understand what these girls have against it.
Variety is the spice of life. Are we expected to come here and spend all our time with the same woman? May as well stay home and get married, heaven forbid.
Need LadyAnne's perspective on this one.

Of course not. Thailand is a culture where men are expected to butterfly and most do. Obviously this applies in spades to 99.99% of guys who just happen to be in Pattaya.
It's mainly about keeping up appearances, which is MUCH more important than the mere truth of the matter. There is no point in rubbishing this, as it is central to the way Thais look at personal relationships of any kind.
Many Thai wives & GFs are perfectly well aware that their menfolk play around. They don't like it especially, but it's the way men are, and they seem to find it relatively easy to put it to one side ('what I don't know for sure won't hurt me'). There two cast iron rules, which offenders break at their peril: 1) don't force it to my attention, and 2) don't make me lose face.
I think the BGs just extrapolate these rules to their own circumstances. You, a free agent, are expected to go through the motions of being faithful, and not bothering is just being disrespectful. They get out of it themselves by saying they have a job to do.
It's not entirely mad. Is it reasonable to expect the GFE from a BG if you ostentatiously barfine her friends under her very nose? Perhaps telling you to get lost just adds authenticity to the GFE.
Do what you want, just be a trifle discreet about it. That's all they really require. To do otherwise is seen as arrogant, and in some cases (not here, where thaifan was caught by accident), I think it probably is.

Actually I believe being a 'Butterfly' can backfire in lots of different ways. Mind you I am not one to talk as I do it myself. I don't think I have the emotional armour for it though ! Why I do it I don't know but I have not the right temperament for it. I usually end up getting hurt.

On my last trip, I hooked up with a BG (we'll call her Wan) for a few nights and then I went to Pattaya?. She must have asked me 3-4 times before and after my trip "You take lady in Pattaya". Finally, I had a "heart-to-heart" with her that went something like this:
Wan: I think you went with lady in Pattaya. You butterfly?
Me: I think you went with man in BKK.
Wan: Not the same.
Me: Same
Wan was surprised by my question back to her. Actually, I don't think it is totally the same thing, as I am spending money on Wan so I can have some fun, and Wan is taking money from a man so that she can have money. I also got the feeling that Wan had a lot of fun with me and wanted to *think* that I was only taking her, and not any other BG. I am not going to spoil that fun by giving her a blow-by-blow of other "encounters". I also went out of my way to have her not SEE ME with someone else (see Tyler's FR in BKK Field Reports )
I told her that I cannot go with her every night, as I do not want to get attached to her, I live in Chicago, I am not moving to BKK and I am not going to be her boyfriend.
To the direct question of this threed ... I believe that her not wanting me to be a butterfly was because she probably thought that if I "took many ladies", then that is time (and money) that I would not be spending on her. Wan would rather be with me going to clubs, eating, drinking and screwing than standing up on a stage naked in a go-go at NEP.

i was in pattaya and caught butterflying the equal to being caught to betting on melboune cup day (not in the hague) i remember the co-incidence well of drifting off to sleep hearing on the flashback mtv an old 70s song (iron butterfly) album......... metamorphoisis) butterflyblea... OK seriously, Nokna is right, if you are upfront with the girls it does go a lot smoother. Ultimately, you can do what you want and the girls really can't do anything about what you do but we do want to be nice guys and consider their feelings too, right? Most girls expect men to butterfly, they think it is "normal" because that's all they see in their day-to-day. But when you develop feelings for 1 girl (and vice versa), then things start to go downhill. I have one special girl who thinks I don't butterfly, which is the reason I have to run around in "stealth" mode so much (see FRs) and actually makes for some real comical situations. But now, for the other girls that ask me if I will call them, see them again, go with them again, etc, I just give them the "shhhh" sign as in "don't ask/don't tell" and that response has so many ambiguous conotations that it seems to answer their question.
Also, if you are going to butterfly, try (and I know this is hard to do), try to be loyal to 1 girl in each bar, there are so many other girls in other bars that you can actually afford to do this. This way, nobody loses face, nobody gets hurt, and you still get to go with as many girls as you want.

I agree that to BF only one girl per bar is a good policy. I also start to develop feelings for some of the girls (like LT1), which is another good reason to butterfly, I think.
As for LT2, she wasn't much fun after that. Wanted to know how many TGs I'd been with. Wouldn't go another round before retiring and, although she fulfilled her obligation of spending the night, dressed in about 2 minutes and was out the door in the morning, leaving my woody standing up in the air. She complained that some farangs only 'take, take, take'. I guess she didn't think the money fully compensates for the emotional toll it takes on the girls.
Hermie, nice to see you again bro. Yeah, I was fond of both. Hey, they're friends, so maybe a threesome? Thanks for the idea bro, but I don't think my budget will allow it.
