A friend of mine has a fairly old TEFL (RSA)
Certificate. The college closed long ago and
he would like to know what the certificate
looks like recently.
Are there any web sites that show what these
certificates look like ???
Not into teaching myself so I cannot help him ?

I examined many schools that offer the certificate. Could not find one that had a certification from any reputable or governmental agency. So, I guess if I were to run my own school... say the BKK2Nite TEFL school, and issued certificates, they would be as valid as any other ones obtained from the "costly" and "lengthly" already established schools. That being said.... Please send me $400.00 USD, a listing of your financial statement along with your credit card numbers, and the pin from your ATM, and I will send you a certificate. OBTW, you may want to send me an address to send the certificate to.

Yep ... fake anything if you know who to ask ... last time I asked was quoted 50,000 bt for a US Passport ! International drivers IDs around 300 bt, and diplomas of all type for 200-1000bt

IMHO, I don't think this will happen. You could get fired. The school could report you to the Thai goverment and if they were in a real pissy mood kick you out of the country and never let you back in. Most likely if you are teaching english and doing a good job, nothing will happen. Here the trick to commiting the perfect crime, don't tell anyone. Same, same using false papers.

I hate to be a wet blanket here, but has any of you considered what you are proposing?
BigD is moving in the right direction, getting a TEFL cert, and presumably the class will teach him how to teach English. He has some teaching background already, so much the better.
But the rest of you proposing fake credentials to teach kids English? How would you feel if it was your kid? Or how about going to a doctor with a fake degree?
You have to feel a LITTLE bit of responsibility toward the people who are entrusting you with their, or their kids' education.
Seriously. I would string your asses from the highest palm tree...

I am not trying to say it's alright to have fake paperwork but dude...
You can't compare a fake TEFL with a fake Doctors degree. It's apples and oranges.
But if my kid actually learned how to speak English, I wouldn't care about the fake or not fake certificate.
