Planning on being in Thailand in 10 days, looking at the ease/cost of hiring a driver for 2 weeks. I just like having some one available to drive me around Bangkok, no taxi hassles. Sightseeing and bar hopping (mainly bar hopping) high on my list of activities, plus a couple of runs to Pattaya and Korat for 5-6 days.
Does anyone know of a reliable driver, that knows his way round town and that would be available??

If you plan to get around BKK in a car, you better plan to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic. It's a lot easier to get around by the sky train.

in bkk you are better of with the skytrain and motorbike taxis. if you go upcountry, hiring a driver is not a bad idea. enjoy...

May use the Skytrain, just to say I rode it (once). Lived in Japan for 6 years, didn't enjoy riding the train (even with the cuties hanging around).

If you are staying near the Manhatten.
across the road is a white car . driver Samat.
speaks good english, and knows his way around . took me to Ko Chang and then to Authayia.
he is there at breakfast time , but seems to soon pick up for the day tour.
no grumbles at all.
