No I am not Michael Moore but has anybody thought on the way home,"stupid idiot what did I do that for?"
For instance my first reason was- If I had never come here I would not know what I am missing and wouldn't spend all my time yearning to return 2nd Why on earth did I marry her, I had nothing in common with her!

Stupid is stupid. Besides you might exclude our other members who also want to be stupid. If your going to be stupid, it's good to be politically correct while being stupid.

Very true. However, there's a great short story by Maupassant called 'Strolling'. It's about a M. Leras, a Parisian ledger clerk who "had gone into Messrs Labuze & Co at the age of 21 and had never come out again." Leras is a timid, cautious man who has lived his life very sensibly, by the book, never taking any kind of risk, and apparently contented enough in his small, undemanding way.
"Forty years had gone by - long, fleeting years, empty as a day of sorrow, and all identical, like the hours of a sleepless night. Forty years of which nothing remained, not a memory, not even a grief, of the time since the death of his parents. Nothing."
One evening, Labuze goes for a stroll in the Bois de Boulogne and is approached by a prostitute. Naturally, her turns her down, almost as a reflex action. However, the incident gets him thinking and suddenly he realises: "the wretchedness which had been, which was, and was yet to come. His last days indistinguishable from the first, with nothing ahead of him or behind him or around him, nothing in his heart, nothing anywhere."
So he tops himself. I suppose the moral is that a certain amount of reckless stupidity may be advisable.

Herm - your post brings to mind some lyrics from a song that tends to go through my head when I realise I have yet again done something stupid in Thailand involving a current TGF.
