I'll be heading to LOS on Sept 4. Unfortunately, I have a 5 hour layover until my flight to Phuket takes off. Any ideas or tips to kill 5 hours at Don Muang? I'll be there from 2am to 7am. Are there any airport bars, short time rooms or freelancers any of the board brothers can refer me to? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me....

Are you bypassing bangkok altogether? Phuket is cool though. If it were me , I would either go over the bridge to Amari , but it's probably not too lively at 2-7am, you could grab a stray at the airport and take a room there.....pricey though. Or alternatively, its only 30 mins from NEP, at that time of night, grab a gal at Nana Disco or Grace, bag a short time room and Taksins your Uncle ( or Aunt) , of course your suitcase may cramp the style a bit!

Well, before you're through customs and pickup your luggage it's 30-45 min later, transfer to domestic airport another 20 mins, 1 hour before departure .... so that leaves only around three hours ....
Looks much better .... picking up stray might be not so good idea as probably some Thais are willing to make your wallet a little lighter before even arriving in Phuket.
BTW are you really serious about short time rooms and available freelancers at the airport .....?

Try a massage at the hotel linked to the airport. I think the connecting walkway is on the 4 floor, terminal 2
Not tried it myself, but posts of some time ago suggested that extras are available but pricey.

just yesterday i saw a statement that the barbers at the terminal(forget which one,will look for it)stll offers at least a HJ.
you might be there at the wrong time of day though i guess.
good time to get to Phuket,time to relax and get settled and then go for a trip to Cristins to get all the travel stress massaged out of you.

I wouldn't waste my money near the airport (especially if you have to worry about your luggage). 5 hours really sucks (too little time to get a hotel, too much time to sit around doing nothing). IMHO, I think you would be better off just hacking the time in the airport and waiting until you get to Phuket before you start spending cash. Like the movie "Something about Mary" you have the baby batter in the brain. Wait to clean the pipes once you get to Phuket - patience is virtue.

you are best lining up a massage or escort girl to meet you exactly 75 minutes after touch down, at say nanna hotel......by the time your doing her, (and know what your going to do prior)....its maybe close to the 100 minute mark , second round 150 minute ......shower leave ....and taxi back to airport allowing 60 minutes for possible delays ....total minutes 210 minutes......thats 3.5 hours since you landed mission accomplished!...cost...two examples.....taxis 500 baht...room 1200 tops!......joiner fee..nil....(escorts bangkok 2500 two hours....have her waiting) redrose...add 1500....bangkokmodels add 2500... roughly......5000 baht tips....to 7000 baht......alternatively....go to domestic arrivals, pick out a p4p ending her trip , and make small talk, its like fishing in tank o fish....i would be confident you hook one by third try, offer 3000 and hit hotel .....either way this looks like you will make it ,...let us know how!

I spent 22 hours at Don Muang because I was dropped off there very early. To kill time, I ate at the restaurants, watched tv, read magazines, and slept. Time flew by!
