Oh, condom is absolutely illegal in Thailand. See Thai civil code section 14435-11.334 sec. 2 which states : " if a person is caught with a condom on his or her person and can not explain where he or she had bought the condom from, the penalty is one year in prison plus 30 slashes on the buttocks with a cowhide whip dipped in sea water......" ( end of quote).

Uh oh. I already bought my condoms. Will I get in trouble? I bought magnums. Are there more severe penalties for those?
Maybe I will cut out a pistol shape from tin foil and put it in my suitcase liner. That will distract them. They won't notice the condos.

Thai civil code section 122254-3354 states : any person who bought magum condom, but in fact if found is not so well endowed, shall be sent to the mental hospital for an indefinite period of time for close observation unless he can show evidence that the magum condom had been bought for his LB friend who in fact maybe more endowed in which case a comprehensive test will be performed on the offender and his LB friend for which the offender shall bear all costs and expenses....." am glad the condom question opened up such a nice debate 
guess it was a case of overpreparedness on my part - was planning to carry them anyway- this was just in case etc
As far as Pegasus goes, thanks for the info - from the responses I would think not much enthusiasm regarding this club - has the quality gone down - because in the early forums ( more than an year ago) - people seemed to consider it pricey but really good - is that a reasonable assessment ?

I for one am astounded with this revalation that condoms are illegal in Thailand.
Even here in the very catholic Philippines (where condoms are denounced as the tools of the devil) condoms are available at any 7-11 or gas station.
I thought the Thai govt was seriously engaged in an anti-AIDS program atm. Does anyone know exactly why condoms are banned?

What I am more upset about is the shower ban in Bangkok!

I am pretty well connected and my sources tell me the ban is in place again this year (until Songkran). Last year, it was a real pain to stay in Bangna (where the was no ban) and taxi in every morning. Does anyone know of a "shower-friendly" serviced apartment near Sukhumvit that might "look the other way" on this matter?
