Patpong always take a bashing. Glad that a lot of you keep out a there. Leaves more quality for guys who know where to get the goods.
Try Thigh bar, Kiss, Pussy connection, Superstar...the 3 Kings bars next to each other, one is Camelot, maybe King's Castle. Yeah you gotta be street smart otherwise you should not go there.
Some good upstairs show bars, Kangaroo for an early evening BJ. beer bars outside are full of pussy. A coupla discos for freelancers. Hell I got picked up in MickeyDs on Silom once while I was chowing down before the hunt. So don't run the place down jus coz ya cannna hack it!!

Just wanted to compliment Power on the title of this thread. I visited BKK for the first time last year and spent hours beforehand reading this site. I can honestly state that from the time I arrived to the time I left absolutely nothing was a suprise (with the exception of the multitude of total babes who think I very hansum man  ) From the taxis at the airport to the MP's, FL's, even where to go during my off bar time was exactly as I read. So read up newbies. The more you know the more comfortable you'll be and the more fun you'll have when you know what's around that next Soi.
Heading back in July for 2 months so I'm looking forward to a couple of RT's and meeting the real pros. Thanks to all.

May I add to Powers suggestions;
1) Do not buy saphires on the street.
2) Please place passport, cash, cameras, prescription sunglasses in the hotel safe. Never leave anything out in the open that you cannot bear to be relieved of.
3) Do not engage in screaming matches with BG's. Especially when she is holding a jumbo Chang bottle. They hurt alot and make you bleed. I know this from experience.
4) Leave the moto-bike rentals, and large motorcycles rentals alone. It hurts alot for alot of days after dumping one, and you gotta pay on the spot or lose the passport just replaced from when the BG ripped off all your stuff you didn't lock in the safe.
5) If you're bit by a fly, and develop a fever and shakes, and start to suffer delerium, go to a doctor. Don't lay in your soaked sheets for two days expecting to get better. And don't let your BG make you drink warm chocolate milk.
6) When that travel "pal" you met at the airport and have been hanging starts practicing your signature, it's time to pull a dissapearing act.
7) Don't stand in front of that huge ugly German who is very drunk, and buldged with muscles and tats, and euro-trash cologne, and is barreling his way through the disco.
8) Do aim your cigarette out to the side as he passes by.
9) Do not go with a tuk-tuk to a MP.
10) Do not engage the guys on the street, who have a neice from the town your from.
Some ripped from experience, others from others. Hope it helps.

Any advice on where to find Farang girl friends who are willing to travel to Thailand and do that with you? Think I need that before I can take you up on point 9.

Sorry but I cant help you on that one Bimmher. I consider myself very very fortunate on that point and have lost count of the number of times Ive been called an extremely lucky bast*rd by fellow go-go and girlie bar patrons.

I have never surrendered my passport for motorbike rental. Bargin hard and give up your driver's license. They may not like it but if you say "no can do" then start to walk away most will say ok. My passport is just too valuable to trust "anyone" to hold it while I am in a foreign country. And yes, the crashes can be quite painful. I worry more about my cute little Thai girl on the back than I do myself so I drive like a little old lady.
Another tip: Buy one of those nifty flash drives that will fit around your neck or in your pocket. Scan copies of your passport, airline tickets, Travelers Cheques or any important documents. Leave the originals in the your hotel safe and carry this with you just in case. Plug it in to any computer and you've got access to your copies.

100% good advice - I spent three months reading up on LOS/BKK before I went for my first trip, and consequently was prepared for most anything that I read about. Being well-prepared is the most important thing for any traveller to do, abd I am continuously amazed how clueless or ill-prepared some people are (or how, after reading this forum, they fall for the wrong girl, and bleed themselves dry, only to blame the girl, or Thailand, afterwards - dumb pups!)

Actually I scan those papers and send them as an attachment to myself on my web email account. So you do not need any hardware and can access the files anytime and anywhere.
