I think you need to start reading the different boards here. There is a ton of information just sitting there. It's way too hard to give you specific answers to those types of questions. Plus any recommendations could change come december. Hang out here and read away.

Welcome to the board.
My prefered hotel in BKK is the Park Hotel Soi 7. It is reasonably priced at 1100B per night for a double (so no probs getting the girl in) and it's close to everything. Short walk from there to Nana, BTS, GT and the beergarden is right across the entrance from it. 
In Pattaya I ususally stay at the Lido Beach hotel, it's right at the entrance to walking street, which is very handy and I usually pay 650B there (double again). They have always been very friendly ;)
You should be able to leave your items at the hotel, specially if you plan on staying there again in the return trip, just rememer to leave a little tip and they'll look after it for you.
As for GoGo's, MP's, etc.. Do a walk through Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy and see if you find something you like.  You can try either try Annies or Darlings (doesn't open till 4pm) for a soapy massage. If you want something more upmarket, try CP2
And if you have any money/energy left after that, drop into Gullivers (GT) and shout the Bro's a beer.

I'll ditto the TWD and Turkish...use the search engine and just make some choices. It will all work out.
You won't see it all on the first time and all the homework in the world won't guarantee you'll have a few less-than-fulfilling experiences. Just prepare yourself to TWD's test questions.
If you're lucky, you'll come back with an understanding of the Thai phrase Mai Pen Rai and a mind full of memories to daydream away those longish hours back at work when you return.
