Try in and aroung the Rajamangala Stadium on Ramkhamhaeng, or the National stadium behind MBK. Usually lots of different ball sports going on, each with it's own area. The volleyball Alan mentioned (there's only ONE Mr on this forum....  ) seeing on TV was in the Indoor Arena at the former mentioned venue.
Another alternative is the Thai / Yipun Sports Complex in Din Daeng.

Just as JHolmesJr said. I loved the first one, it was funny and unusual. The sequel was a disappointment.
Seems that the only films being made these days are re-makes or sequels.

I played there two years ago as well. Haven't been down there for at least six months. Never really went there very regularly, but sometimes in the evenings and late Sunday afternoons. Pick-up games there are OK sometimes, but most of the time there's a lot of cherry-picking and the local kids tend to get a bit territorial, which is not good for the general vibe there. I suspect the gay volleyball guys are more welcoming though
