Lol , it takes a lot longer to recover from a beating once you're over 25/30. For every guy  like Kryptonite that has seen the better of a Muay Thai boxer, there are 50 or so that will be too embarrassed to say what happened
These days my pain is limited to hangovers

I must also add, he was not a champion or anyone that would probably ever be a professional.

I agree, most of the time the Muay Thai fighters take care of business.

Grappling is their down fall, and if a guy has good chin they can get inside on them and get them down to the ground.

What seems to happen in Ultimate Fight Contests is that the wrestlers and JJ guys will take one hit and get their man to the ground and that is that...sounds easy in theory but i am sure it ain't that easy in practice

There are a few Muay Thai boxing schools near Pattaya and it's not uncommon that 'students' fight with trained boxers at Pattaya's beer bars.

I have seen a few Dutch fighters (Muay Thai is very popular in The Netherlands) and usually the Thai fighters had to hit the dust ....

Yes,indeed, with a little luck you might see Thai lady boxers in Pattaya .... they are quite feisty ... usually more fun to watch than male boxing ....

Say you DO NOT know what style or school of asian fighter you are up against, what would be the recommended style to be defend yourself with and win, assuming you were trained well enough to know and use several different fighting styles yourself.

It's always best to knock your opponent down , using hands/feet/elbows/knees.
Let him throw a kick , time a sweep correctly on his supporting leg.
If/when he falls , bring your ful body weight onto him, perhaps elbow first, landing on his gut to wind him.
Then use a choke hold , if you know one, or simply restrain him using a lock until he's too tired to continue.
This would only work if you had the speed and conditioning, plus the reflexes that only develop from cross training in several arts.
A mixture of Jiu-jitsu/Muay Thai and perhaps Judo would be cool. The main difference between Muay Thai and the other arts is he amount of conditioning required , only boxing is comparable.
If in doubt either grab a weapon ( ashtray etc ) or run like hell!

Mr Bok Hah...
And I guess it would help if my opponent would follow your instructions to the letter so I could win. Nice option about the run like hell!
