Talking about immigration cards, I have these cards filled out before leaving Australia, you can usually get them from your Travel Agent, If not when they are handing them out on the plane ask for 2 so when you have your next trip to BKK, you're prepared. Don't forget to take a pen so you can fill it out on the plane, this will also save time.
With the taxi, after exiting immigration turn left, go to the lifts and go up 2 floors to the departure lounge and get a taxi that is dropping off customers and this will save you lining up outside, ask the cabby to use metre and pay for the tolls, it usually costs about 250 bht to get to sukumvit soi 5, i'm at hotel 1 hour after landing.

Don't bother and waste time going to your hotel first... walk straight into Nana (or the parking lot) with your bags.... the girl of your choice will happily carry them for you.

Never paid more than 160 Baht Sukhumwit destination (mid-day, noon arrival), unless you include tip in that. Then again, who's counting the $2.50.

Yes that does have a tip in it, the meter usually 140-160 then the toll then tip, still better then paying 350 and waiting downstairs in a line.
