Actually that parasite has been in BKK for quite some time it is referred to as the UA Bug. (Ulgy American). But it is easy to avoid as they appear through various venues in BKK in shorts, flip-flops and loud shirts. The blinding white skin from their legs who have not seen the sun for a year shall serve as warning to get out of the way as the UA Bug takes no sh_t from anybody only dishes it out.

Again, TC73 shows a total lack of intelligence...
It's a fact known worldwide that Thais are one of the cleanest folks on this planet and I'm not talking only about personal care.....
The chances to get intestinal worm infestation in LOS are the same if not lower than in any give western Country....of course, you are not supposed to search for food in the garbages....aren't you?

You won't get worms from cooked food.
Generally speaking you will only be infected from swimming in a river or canal. I don't konw if Thailand suffers from this. Stick to swimming in the ocean or hotel swimming pool that has been chlorinated and you will be ok.

Brother VJ, perhaps you have never seen the backstage of the restaurants in Europe.....once, a very good friend of mine, a top of the class chef told me that a real good chef is the one able to transform garbage into expensive and eye catching food......
My experience tells me that in Thailand I feel as safe as in Europe in terms of food.....
