It is also possible to buy the real McCoy software in Pantip with a license, etc.
Last month I bought a new copy of XP for 6,800Baht.
Dont know what it costs in Europe/USA though!

MS XP Home Software cost $200, or $100 upgrade from an previous MS OS (typical USA price).
MS XP Professional cost $200 for the upgrade version.

It appears Thailand prices for computer gear are no bargain for a visitor. If you live in Thailand, that is different story. Prices at Panthip Plaza may be more competitive, but not really worth the hassle of warranty issues and bringing it back into the USA.

I agree. As well as if something goes wrong the manufacture might not honor the warrantee because it was sold as a product for th PacRIm area and not the North Amercian area.
Not to mention also that some software does not work and I'm not sure I'd trust using a copy version of MS as my installer. IT's like that guyer beware thing!! ha ha ha!
With the prices being so low for hardware anyways, why fly all the way to bkk to try and bring back a hardward product??
