my other tip would be for Onera get an LT BG (TGF) that can take him around to see the sites.
She'll know where to go and the cheapest/easiest way to get there.
When in the Philippines our first mission was to get a BG, which we called Tour Guides, because they did that job as well as BJ, FJ, and your laundry if you stayed long enough...
Can't see why it would be much diff. in LOS. If your BG's got a nice place, and you don't think you'll want to change gals soon, you can move in with her.
That way you get more time for FJs, BJs (less traveling between her/your room), and it's also easier for her to do your laundry.
Now this might be easier to do in Phuket since it's less crowded there and housing is a little more spacious,
but even if your BG lives in a shared apartment in BKK, what the heck, at least now you can ogle her gal pals while she's in the shower.

I agree with Local Yokel on this. If you can get a Thai lady to show you around it will save time and money. She will know the qickest way to get to were you want to go. She will barter for you and Thais will always get better prices then falangs.
A good place to visit is the Kwai Bridge etc this will take the whole day and can usually be booked at your hotel.
For you information Christmas day is a normal working day Thailand, but the 31st December and the 1st.January are public holidays.

The Bridge wasn't anything special for me, it's the
waterfalls nearby that are interesting.
don't really like the idea of visiting a monument where so many died...
The mountainous region reminds me of home.
The Bridge itself is only 2 hours out of BKK, but the waterfalls are farther out, about 40 min-1hr farther, especially if you're in a bus.
We went out and spent the night not long ago. Had a blast at the River Kwai Hotel. Best Club and MP in town....
