thank you all for all the comments flight is now booked, arriving there on sept 5 early morning till sept 17 focusing now on board to find some good hotels advices, as I told my first idea was not really the "night entertainment" as I didn't know a lot about it, but for sure I'll choose a guest friendly hotel, especially since I broke with GF few days ago do you think 50-50 between BKK and Pattaya is a good time ratio for a first visit ?

I'd say find some Bro's on members schedule to hang around with for a few days in BKK, then head down to Pattaya, first trip. Phuket is a hour plane ride, and IMHO has less goodies nowadays. 7 years ago was a different story.

pw 50-50 is good. Keep in mind Bangkok is much bigger and if you plan any tourist activities, you might consider an extra day there.

Thailand only has two types of weather: hot and too damn hot. The first time I went to Thailand I had a headache that almost killed me... had to take tons of aspirins.

I have been in Thailand the past two Septembers. The first Early September trip I can't even remember much rain. Last year 15 Sept-6Oct it rained a lot. One down part of it raining a lot at night is that you will be hard pressed to get a taxi when it is raining. That can totally screw up your party transportation. Down in Samui last september it rained a lot, and not really much sunbathing time. Rain or no Rain...Thailand still is great.
