Yep, the foodcourts are fun, at least the ones I've seen in BKK. Haven't tried any punting from these, but that's 'cause I'm usually eating there with my TGF. She wouldn't have a sense of humor about that ...
BTW, unlike foodcourts I've seen in U.S. malls, the ones in BKK have a little ticket stand. You buy a ticket worth, say, 200 Baht, and then give it to each vendor. They deduct the cost of their food from the card, and then you get to sit down, eat, and enjoy the show.

In Pattaya the Royal Garden shopping mall has McD, Burger King and KFC and a great food cout upstairs. I've eaten in all fast food joints and some of the food court eatery and never got sick. Good food upstairs. I think they may have their own water treatment plant as the Marrioot Hotel is part of this complex.

A nice tip for food courts in BKK if you have time, from a sneaky old sod like me!!
I came across this one by accident. It was lunchtime at the foodcourt below Robinsons on Sikhumvit and I was munching away on some food while busily poring over a Thai street map. Loads of "nice" Thai girls came down from the stores and offices in the complex for their lunch. After a minute or two of looks and giggles a young lady in a grey skirt suit came over and asked if I needed help. Well, what can you say? Things developed after I played stupid on the map reading (not hard for me) and she offered to show me the sights on the river at the weekend. Now, even I can take it from there. Sights, jokes, laughter, dinner, drinks, cm2, drinks, bed, breakfast etc.
It worked so well that I have used the same ploy in other food courts frequented by "nice" Thai girls with a command of English. Better than walking your three legged dog in the park in Washington!!

I have some more questions

I have never had a BG refuse to go back to my hotel for s/t. I don't tip papasan or mamasan at MP or bar. I may buy them a drink sometime during the night. Rip off bars, you will find these at Patpong in BKK, they offer sex show upstairs. If you go before you sit down make sure you find out if there's a cover charge and how much the drinks cost.. If you have a problem get a receipt and go to the tourist police. Bar owner hate to have police come to bar as the police charge them 5000 for each visit.

"BG's insist on using "short-time-hotels". Well it happens I guess. Do the math.
You offer her 1.000 - 2.000 B for a day work. If she can get 5 ST's a day (or more) for only 500 B. You can not blame her.
On the otherhand it also means she has to deal with 5 assholes a day compared to a sucker like you once. Maybe the guy who gave you this info was an asshole and the girl did not want to take the risk.
Also the average looking girl gets only picked once a day / week, so she will go with you for free (almost).
An other point you don't have to forget is that a bargirl has a workcontract. She gets (I think) a salary of about 5.000 - 10.000 B a month. She has to work 28 days out of 30. One day not coming to work means a 1.000 B penalty. Also she has to get 10 or so barfines and dozens of ladydrinks. If not 1.000 B penalty. And in case the bar has some rooms upstairs, she will probably have to use them a certain times a month.
But what will happen is more along this line :
She will SUGGEST you use the upstairs room, because maybe you don't like her in bed. If you still like her, you take her out.
The liking ofcourse works both ways, when you are an asshole in bed, she will say no.
But the most important fact : she got 1.500 B out of 2 shags instead of a 1.000. Also the bar made a barfine and rented a room.
You can test the mechandice for some extra money. Up to you if you want that. I suggest to try it atleast once.
