Everything normal between Sukh 5 and Sukh 15 after 1 AM as of a few days ago.
From my experience the MIB seem to do these clamp downs in waves. They dont act for days and then all in one night they swoop and clamp everything down. This has a sort of... ' remember who is boss' effect. I dont know what the fines have been about..possibly underage ?..or possibly some moral thing such as 'intention to prostitute oneself maybe?' I dont know thai law well enough to comment.

I was in Sukhumvit last week. At the beginning of the week there was no problem, you could drink, and watch the FL's until 5 in the morning, no problem. By the end of the week some bars were closing early (2pm), as they were being asked for a "charitable" contribution. Also the FL's were getting hassel if they were not with Falangs.
Crack down....I don't think so. In the next four weeks there's christmas and new year. How else do these poor guys in brown buy presents for there children!!

I am already back from LOS. Gogo's close 1am, discos close 2am. No problem though, cuz Suk is one big party after hours until daylight.

I agree with KiNHoy plenty to do after 2 am, just get some food on the suk and watch the world go by, and you will find some fun............ there is no other place that I know off like the suk early morning

Hmmm....seems SUK it the place to be after 2.00am ?
I'm a newbie here, but a very frequent regular in LOS since 13 years. I always stay in a Silom hotel as will I do again next week.
My simple question: Is it easy to find transport back from SUK to Silom after (let's say) 4.30am ? Taxi's available ?

Yes, Taxis are always available. Should be about a 50 Baht metered taxi fare from Sukhumvit to the Surawong entrance to Patpong 1. Going from Patpong to Sukhumvit is another story, if you don't know where to catch a "honest" taxi driver.
