IMHO safe places to eat, Landmark Hotel, Subway and other American fast food joints. They make their suppliers maintain high standards.
Obviously the last thing you should be considering on visiting LOS would be to sample some of the fantastic Thai cuisine. Better to stick to the same bland homogenous crap peddled in fast food joints the world over

An old timer took me to some carts near nep my first time in bkk - no problems. I figured he probably knew which are likely to be safer. I would not pick one myself until I'd been in bkk longer.

Must sample the Thai Food - its amazing however good points have been raised. I have eaten plenty of "street food" I also have made the mad dash to a hotel lobby that has "western facilities".
Eat at will - but keep in mind that shortly after you will need to unload so to speak - good idea to bring some coagelating medication - just in case. Last thing you want is to be in a Go-Go and need to use the facility -you will know what I mean once you view on your own.
Don't fotrgert to partake in the late night Sukhumvhit street bars - lots of fun. Read the Edens thread - u will not be dispappointed. Good advise from the Bro's to hit Big Dogs and Lucky Lukes at Nana - get there at about 5pm and watch the Bar Girl Parade.
A week or two before arriving post a new thread to meet members who will be in BKK. The BTF brothers are great to hang out with and will teach you a years worth of BKK expierence in one night.
Have fun and keep smiling - Thai girls are very receptive to a big smile !

Not really game to eat at the street carts, my tummy I dont think is cast iron coated, but will be sussing out the food places real soon also.. Landmark sounds good.
Anyway guys, thanks for all the info, it will no doubt be added in my book of notes.
Looking forward to getting over soon.
In regards to Gullivers, do many FL's get down there? Seem like a nice place to down a few cold ones..

If you have any doubts about your tummy then try to eat at western-style joints although that is not a guarantee.
Often its not the grub that makes you sick but the sanitation or lack thereof.
