Yes, I have experienced gogos turning down colored people ("Indian looking") by telling that it is only for members. Indians have bad reputation due to various reasons that u can read in this forum. I am also of Indian origin living in the USA for the last 20 years. Many girls will even ask you if you are alone in the room (I joke that I have my wife in the room and if she knows Thai boxing than every thing will be fine  .
You will find plenty of gogo bars where you will be welcome. Now a days I don't go to gogos often because it is very boring for me. If I go, I go with a TG because than you are not hassled for LD etc.
You have to just live with that. What I found that if you treat the girls right, you will slowly develop a network of girls who will help you getting more girls of your likings. For example, every time I take a girl to my hotel, I buy a phone card (50 Baht, a lousy $1) for her on our way to the hotel. Sometimes I will ask her to call her friends and we all go out and eat from the street vendors. Yes, you spend money and then you also develop a kind of "friendship". When I see them, I not only ask how are they doing but how are their friends doing.
If I don't like sexual encounter with a girl, I just don't get upset or not give her the money that we negotiated before. I just joke and tell her the truth. And amazingly I found that sometimes they will find their friends who are of my likings.
The bottom line is that you will encounter resitance. But it is up to you to make the best of the situation. Don't forget that you are the smart one because you have the money but you don't have to be arrogant and put yourself on the pedastal. You also don't have to throw your money to get the girls. You have to strike a balance.

I've often seen Thais in GoGo Bars, even Thai men too! Seriously though, I've seen Thai chaps in several of the bars in Nana and the times that I can remember, they actually paid their bar bills!

I have taken my Thai father-in law into go-go's. He has been challenged at the door and only allowed in when it is clear he is with me. It may have something to do with his dark skin, his ancient white T-shirt, and his blue trousers, that make him look like he has just come out of a hard day in the fields; or it may have something to do with the fact that he just looks like (and is) an old Thai male with little cash.
Once it is clear he is with a farang who is paying the bill all seems ok at the door and he is allowed in.
He has a great time inside. He is a man afterall. He loves the shows. Like all Thais, and all other races no doubt, he has a good idea about how to have a good time when someobody else is paying. Although we have never run into any young girls from the same village on our trips around the go-go's it would be interesting if we did.
He now understands what hard work it can be for the village girls when they go to Bangkok to work on a building site, or to Pattaya to work in a hotel.
None of the go-go girls seem too pleased to see an old village local come into their place of work - I guess they are just frightened that it may be a relative who recognises them and spills the beans when he goes home to the village. Once they see he is not from their village and how much he is enjoying himself they soon seem to loose their attitude. Still none of them seem in any hurry to leave the bar with him.
That said, I have yet to try to pay the bar for a girl for him - Mrs Shreddie says it could cause problems for me with the mother-in law. When/if it happens it will have to be on the QT. His eyes and his attitude in the bars suggest to me he would jump at the chance - what fool would not, especially if someone else is paying?
Probably better that he does own thing, in Thai style, with some Thai bit on the side, discretely, with cash I give him. That way I do not know, Mrs S does not know, and mother in law does not - even though we all really know! He may already have come to an after-hours arrangement with one of the go-go ladies for all I know -although he has never sorted me out with any favours with the girls that way.
Back to the bars. Sometimes I think I have noticed a few pointed looks in our direction from farang customers in go-go bars. Perhaps that is nothing to do with farang discrimination against a poor Thai male (a 'what are you doing in our go-go bar attitude?') and more to do with the fact that, in true Thai style, we both pick our noses in public?
That is my take on this anyway.
