Brocher's right: the Starfish Disease is an incurable one. My MO is to spend 10-15 minutes chatting to the girl to test the waters. Is she cheerful? Bashful? Talkative? Does she looks like she is up for a fun night or just going through the motions? You'll be able to form some kind of an impression within a few minutes of the conversation. In retrospect, most of the girls that delivered starfish performances had some warning signs that I overlooked, largely out of my newbieness.
If all else fails and you still get a starfish, chalk it up to experience and get back on the prowl. Bangkok is a hunter's paradise.

Exactly what I was going to say. The solution for a starfish is to get rid of her ASAP, and find another girl who is hopefully better.
The only way to get the most bang for your Buck is to pop a dick pill, and make her really earn her every baht.
It happens to all of us. We fail to realize all the tell tale starfish/dead beat signs of girls that we just want to f*** for their looks. When you think of it, the best looking ones are probably highest starfish odds, since they are the ones getting f***ed the most time and time again.

Are sure you have to BK before? Impressing the BG's? Are you looking to marry one? Most bar girls are impressed with any hotel that is not Nana. I stayed at the Emporium Suites for two nights on my last trip. The Ho's were plenty impressed with my Hotel room. I was just slightly worried that one of them was going to steal a lamp or some pillow cases.
If the BG comes off as a hardened pro, well then she gets shit f***ed out of her. If she is somewhat "normal" acting then I am bit nicer to her. Either way, based on your question sounds like your looking for a GF in BK, and if you dont speak some Thai thats virtually impossible.

Check the last para of Yodsaker's post. Showering or bathing together is nothing special but when you actually take the effort to personalise it by scrubbing (and rubbing!), particularly in all the personal places it pays dividends. As Y said it is unlikely that Thai guys ever bother with this.The idea of a man looking after their hygiene is totally alien.
You will usually get a look of surprise or reticence if you start soaping them up but after a while they will usually enjoy the experiance and if done with a light touch even the star fishes will come alive.Try it but not as a means to an end.

This is definately NOT true. There are plenty of Normal girls in BKK that can speak english, and want a Farang BF. You just are not going to find them hanging out at NANA, Patpong, or SC.

Being "nice" pays a lot of dividends but it also has its risks. On the plus side most girls genuinely appreciate any man who is decent to them. They are working for pay of course but being nice can make a big difference when it comes to the deed. Probably less so in a gogo but certainly with girls more on the fringe.......pool bars, clubs. and so on. And being "nice" is fundamental if u wanna move beyond P4P into the real world........but no point doing that if u are just on vacation.
On the downside, u can be too nice and end up with someone who won't leave u alone. You are her "check" and she won't let go easily. And these girls can be incredibly persistent. Also, especially with the more hardened girls u can end up spreading a lot of money if u are too "nice".
As with everything in bkk it depends what u want. if u want to have sex with many women, tell them exactly what to do etc.............i think the nice but firm technique is best. If u are looking for a different type of experience then move away from the gogos and try ur luck.

And make the effort to learn a little thai - the usual polite phrases plus "What's your name?" " My name is..." How are you?" " I'm fine" etc. Give them the chance to correct and teach you Thai, thay get a buzz from being in charge...
