Yes. I'm getting a little pissed off by the attitude and stance of some people who, having been given good advice by the brothers here on thisforum and elsewhere and advised not to, in this instance, take pictures, turn around and say ah well, this is Thailand and this is Bangkok, and I took a few and there was no problem
( that they had a clue about ).
It is not a sign of a newbie to go his own way or to do his own thing in the light of good advice and warning given.
It is the sign of an ignorant. immaturely selfish and dangerous moron who chooses to behave in a loutish and foolish way at the expense of others and irrespective of the consequences and fall-out.

How did they identify you LS? Did they make you put your John Thomas on an identity parade so they could compare it with the photo?

I have taken photos openly--with a good, large digital SLR camera--with permission in a gogo bar I frequent in NEP. However, the photos weren't of girls dancing on the stage but rather girls I knew posing with each other and with me, "portrait style." I asked the Mamasan in advance, and she said that "you can take a photo of any girl who gives you permission".
Granted, I'm a regular and have spent a lot of money in there, taken about 6 different girls, and I'm friendly with plenty in there I haven't taken...plus I speak Thai and Lao. YMMV.

a lot depends on the type of pics you want to take
I have now and then taken photos of girls in places that I go to.. even back before digital.. in those days I would bring one of the pics back to the bar and give to the girl (they did double pics).. the girls really liked it as many could not afford a camera and getting a pic was nice for them
now, they like to look at the pics on the screen and now and then I will make copies and give to them
Once I was in a bar I don't frequent much and a Japanese guy was there with an instant digital camera.. he could print a small photo from his camera (sort of like the old polaroids) and the girls loved it.. almost got me to go out and look for one of them.. this was about a year ago
