thanks for the insight folks.
I'm hoping it doesn't dump down too hard when I am there. I do hope to get in some good beach time. And will definitely travel to where the climate is better once there.
Fritz Can you tell me where that island is? And does anyone know how expensive it is to fly to maylasia? Anyone know anything about kuala lumpur?
also cutting to the chase - I have looked at dozens of hotel websites, but its hard to guage. Anyone recommend of any nice hotels for under 20$ a night close to where all the action is. meaning where i can get to whole shitload of restaurants, partying, bars, grocery stores, etc.. etc... 
I have read the hotels section of the forums, hard to get a clear picture.
