any thai food shop, or group of steet sellers, will have a 'Kow Man Gai' stall amongst them - probably the most common Thai dish - even have a song referring to that, price varies a little, upcountry probably 15-20bt, maybe they charge a 'farang' 30 or 40bt, - normally you get the bowl of rice, some slices of cooked chicken, and also a small bowl of watery soup/stock - I prefer the 'Tod" or fried chicken, again they slice you off a few pieces. If your TG wants to sit down somewhere to eat cheaply, or takes you to an upcountry restaurant, it is probably the safest, and most eadible way to go !
