OK, my 2p, for what it is worth...
You are all right! The guys who say it is just a business for the girls, and the guys who say that the girls appreciate this thing or that thing.
My biggest surprise with bar girls was the variety of personalities that they have. They seem to me to be pretty well like normal girls....just that you pay them. So, just like normal girls, there are those that like this...those that like that....those that want to have fun....those that are dead into sex....those that are just into your wallet....etc etc etc. The only difference between P4P and normal girl situation is that, so long as you can pay, you are suddenly far more attractive than back home....55555
So what I try and do is find a girl who I get on with, who I *click* with. Doesn't always work, but in general, if you feel a click, then you're onto a winner, and will have a great time - great sex, a laugh with her before, during after, get honest answers to questions you have, etc.
So, unless YOU are into a woman who would not want to have sex on the first date....then go ahead and have it! I wouldn't, personally, because I am not into women who don't have sex on first dates - I like my women to be as into sex as I am.
So....imagine you were in a situation where you could choose any woman you wanted. Rather than trying to impress them, find the one you are most compatible with (and obviously her looks are as much a part of this as matters to you).
Other than that...the people who said that being clean matters are totally on the ball, if you ask me. Men smelling good matters to most women, but especially to thai ones. Don't wear shorts, or ripped clothing - thais, especially bar girls, are too close to the farm culture of only the poorest wearing torn clothing or short trousers to see it as anything but unattractive.
I once met a guy who was into pulling the most beautiful BGs and not paying them. Couldn't see the point myself, but they were all over him, fell for him completely. He wasn't rich, spent nothing on them, and was far from being a looker. But whenever any BG came up to him, he gave her his undivided attention, looked her deep in the eye, and was totally respectful to her. Even when telling a very ugly old woman that he was not interested in her, he did so gravely, and with respect.
So, I guess: smell good; dress (at least) neatly; find one (or more) you get on with; and (without letting them walk all over you) treat them with respect. And above all, have fun.

Hey, always works for me. I've gotten my best lays and GFEs this way. Don't know why or how it works, maybe they think they need to work harder because I didn't pick them last time, maybe they see a challenge in corupting an "innocent" young lad like me, maybe they just think I'm a nice guy who doesn't have sex as the first thing on the agenda.
Obviously it all comes down to money but given the choice of taking that money from the first bloke that walks in to barfine them or taking it from somebody they've met before and think is nice, kind and caring, I'm sure they'd choose the later.

My initial reaction was 'well, I live and learn, the great thing about a site like this is that I can get feedback from other people's experiences and try things out that I would have not done so before' (and certainly that has often been very true) - then I realised 'hey, I am SO not interested in meeting a BG who is into me because they think that I am 'nice, kind and caring'. I want one who knows how to party and thinks she can have more fun with me than with the next guy.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not kidding myself that she is with me for any other reason than my wallet. But if she has a preference between guys, I would rather she prefers me because I am more 'fun' than because I am kinder, or more likely to marry her, or fall for her, or start sending her money from farangland.
Quite often BGs start telling me about the men they have sending them money, etc etc, and laughing at them - and I like the way that they don't for a moment imagine that they could do that with me. Again, maybe I am being delusional, but I like to think that they get me and I get them. At least, some seem to get into partying with me, and others don't at all, so either the former are just far better actresses, or they actually enjoy it.
So....I guess I should retract my comment about Mr Daddy's comments being so wrong - apologies there - and recognise that it's horses for courses.
