Since New Guy isn't here to defend himself, thought I'd just make a plea to cut him(?) a little slack as I think his offences are at least understandable.
Re the sig, I interpret it as coming from a feminist perspective - ie, women are downtrodden, exploited victims. Best cure for this, of course, is to get knocked all round the ring by the nearest BG - one more good reason why New Guy needs to get his butt over to LOS as soon as poss.
Re disrespect towards the royals, we have to remember that we're dealing with a guy who obviously knows zero about LOS. He thinks his right to free speech is absolute, and can't understand why everyone is jumping on him so hard. I did note last night that when BigD actually took the trouble to explain to him calmly just WHY this was such a big deal that he agreed immediately to drop the subject.
So not necessarily ineducable, I think...
BK has since axed the offending threads, which explains New Guy's missing posts.

WoW!!! lots and lots of activity since I left this thread. Looks like theres always a "right & wrong" side to any topic. We will probably find more wrong side argument over this particular signature. No problem in disscusing it though and, I think to save argument, it should be removed so that it also allows for peacefull discussion. ($0.02)

That is INDEED what John Lennon's song was about, as well as obviously intended shock value. And so, I believe, is NewGuy's sig intended to shock. And had he opened with something reasonable, he would have had a chance to continue unroasted.
Instead, he committed the unpardonable sin (failing to read the archives!  ), as well as the really bad Royal-bashing. The guy is a dickhead, and apologizing and making excuses for him doesn't change that.
A little like, "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"
BTW, I don't think he has been banned; only the offending thread was zapped. He can STILL answer for his own sins.
As for the rest of this thread:
Fat guys will hope 'Looking good' means having a thick wallet. Vain young boys will wish that they could afford the girls that go with the rich fat guys, and protest that 'Looking good' means being buff. Etc., etc., etc.

New Guy is indeed a dickhead, but I suspect he's a particular type of dickhead. I'd guess a very young man with strongly held but wholly derivative opinions, few of which he's actually tested against personal experience of the real world.
C'mon - most of us have been there once upon a time. Arrogant young men who know it all are pains in the arse, but most of them grow up eventually. An actual trip to LOS might well do wonders for this guy...
As for royals-bashing - well, only those of us who have some acquaintance with Thailand know how utterly unthinkable this is.We should try to remember that it is NOT inherently obvious to people who don't know LOS from Mongolia.

I admire your altruism, but there are already too many brash and brainless dickheads fumbling around the immigration lines at Don Muang already. Not to mention insulting Thais, left and right, and generally casting a bad shadow on the rest of us.
I don't know if you have the benefit of historical insight here, but the availability of Thailand as a haven for the clueless horndog has increased exponentially since the advent of the Internet, and at the risk of sounding reactionary, IT AIN'T DONE THE EXPERIENCE MUCH GOOD. Don't take my word for it, ask the REAL old hands...
We really don't need more stinkin' carpetbaggers in Thailand. AOL and WebTV have the place saturated already...

The signature of NewGuy is a racist one in my eyes by using the word he uses and he wants to draw attention with it. Maybe worse, he thinks the is funny... But his signature matches the disrespectful comments in his posts.
BK has interfered and deleted one of the topics where NewGuy has posted and made us bros upset... This is why you cannot find all of his posts!
