Well, I guess it has to be said: whenever I smell Patchouli, it always makes me cringe. Why? Because when I was a college student a million years ago, surrounded by eco-warriors and "organics" as we called ourselves (yeah, I was wearing Birkenstocks back then and sported a beard too, while taking the "morally superior highground" ), the "ladies" always used the oil as a statement about being natural. Unfortunately, it was a thin veil that failed to cover the septic tarnish of poor bathing habits, hairy armpits, hairy legs, and so on.

Guess I don't buy into that part of the eco-warrior scene anymore But, my olfactory nerves have been traumatized by this, and I cannot smell the stuff without these flashbacks. Therapy with asian ladies, and especially those in LOS, has helped considerably over the years, but I fear I fear I am damaged for life.

Brothers, the Patchuli-Patchouli-Petchulli- ribbing, was just that. A light hearted joke...BallsBurstin, u got it fine, And though I still stand by my assertion (or excretion??), that we Americans  have the largest stink of all, being the superior nation and all, I have noticed a propesity for some nationalities to "cover" there god-given reek with some god awful "essence". I've actually had a TG tell me to wash off my favorite cologne, Grey Flannel, due to it's offending her senses. As the Pres Bush would say "Oils well"!!!!

After a lot of thought on this subjet last year, we nailed it down to dairy products. Coming from sweden with a high useage of dairy products, milkdrinkers lots of butter and margarin in food. As well as lots of cheese, that do indeed create a bodysmell.

In thailand, i noticed that some dont like it, some do. But the subject comes up mostly since its an smell they are not really familiar with. Most ppl are aware of that smells that we are used to, we dont really feel after a while. Like smell at home. Which we feel when we comes to someone elses home.

disregarding beeing sweaty, which should be corrected with a shower. We all have a smell. And in my experience, most thai ppl do NOT like useage of cologne or parfumes. Unless very little of it. Seems they dont like the strong scents it brings. Which they unused too. Atleast most of them.

Hermes - I've heard about dairy products but I've also heard about beef as well.

I like beef but as mentioned by others, it is hard to tell one's smell by one's self, unless burying one's nose in one's arm pit.  Has anyone else ever heard about the eating of beef affecting one's smell?

On a side note/question, are you the Greek Hermes or the French Hermes?

Hermes
Armpits usually tend to give smell of sweat thou

And no noone can feel their own bodyodour, due to that smells we get used to tend to not be noticed

Hermes comes from Greek Mythology. A handle i used last 12 years now. Comes from puters childhood before internet grew big. I had a BBS called Olympen. Hermes suited me as the messanger, as well as i was into stockmarket back then. And hermes is also god of economics. However the part that he is god of thieves is a part i would rather speak silent about

On the other hand, god of economics put in form of govermental taxes and such, well they could be seen as theives so maybe i can be ok with that too
