I really don't understand many of the postings in this entire thread. I'm talking of this "they only care for money" bullshit.
Why don't you compare it with the way you earn *YOUR* living with ?!?
If you sell something, may it be goods or service, and this process normally lasts longer than 10 minutes and includes more than shaking hands (not to speak of the level of physical encounter we have in mind), do you then care about the chemistry between your customer and you ?
Yes, you're ready to sell your shit to anyone who's ready to pay for it. But how do you feel if your customer is a complete asshole and how do you feel if your customer is one great guy and you have a lot of fun together?
This is poles apart right.
Man, it's sooo easy, it's all about money, yes true, but it's just much more fun if they enjoy too...

Yes, the truth can be hard. But both is true:
It's all about money
and
It makes a difference who you are
big money = big time, small money = bad time
great personality = big time, ugly bastard = bad time
...and anything in between...
One tricky thing is that money is *very* easy to measure, personality is not...
There are nice people and the other ones (from both sex), I hope both get what they deserve...

LY, for once I agree with you. Yes you need to totally disavow any thing to your good girls that you frequent the likes of SC, NEP, ETC. But even still, they are not stupid, and know that P4P is everywhere in BKK, not just in the sleazy areas. If they make some comment to the effect of me having girls the night before, etc, they are easily deflected. Also, most TGs normally have something going on the side themselves, so they are pretty forgiving on everything, even if they assume.

Look at it his way - an old piece of advice goes "The way a guy will treat a waitress, is the way he will treat his girlfriend or wife, eventually, as well".
I believe this applies here as well. The way I see it, this thread tells you A LOT about how folks treat their 'loved ones', or others, in their lives - just a lot of lack of self-respect, and thinking they can compensate for it with money, and a brash attitude.
It's really about how you feel about yourself - if you feel good about yourself, you want to present yourself well, and you will invariably treat people that provide a service to you well, too. I'll leave you to do the rest of the math

This is great advice. I did this my last trip and had a great time with fun girls who spoke excellent english and saw a lot of non-tourists sites. When they needed to get back home the first few dates, I just set my sights to the usual suspects in SC, or Nana Disco etc...
