... as Quim, I recommend leaving open the option to adventure down to Pattaya... maybe not even an option... just plan on it... if your buddies back home learn that you travelled half-way around the world and did not drag your dick up and down the gloriously seedy sois of Pattaya, they will not allow you to live it down... nor should they. ... knocking the bottom out of a cum-filled Pattaya slut, picked from the dumpster in the Whorehouse to the World, will fulfill repressed Hedonist urges you don't yet KNOW you have... if a man has debauchery in him, Pattaya will bring it out... by example, the man slut Quim was a former elder during his Mormon Mission here... we understand he is now notorious back in Utah as sort of the Mormon anti-Christ. ... (umm, sorry Quim... I am just here to report the facts). ... three weeks anywhere, even BKK, can grow tedious... think about taking one or two breaks... Pattaya for sure, but even beyond Pattaya... maybe a tour of the more well-known beach resorts (Krabi, Samui, Phuket), or the quainter, lesser known beach resorts (Koh Samet, Koh Tao)... a quick 2-day trip to Angkor Wat is something you should not miss while you are in this part of the world... maybe an upcountry tour of Chiang Mai, or Chiang Rai (the night train is a great way there and back... and, a private suite is very cheap). ... all of these places are easily and inexpensively accessed without advanced planning... returning to BKK after a 3 day sidetrip won't break the bank and will re-energize you. ... you will do well to rely upon saucytim's recommendations... he has far wider, detailed and (importantly) current a view of accommodations here than anyone could muster, even as a very frequent hotel guest ... also... massageslave... don't use that word, "heck", on this forum again... just don't do it... ever... (Wally and the Beave NEVER came to Thailand).

Don't take a taxi from Narita into Tokyo, the cost is staggering, take the train. There are lots of fun watering holes for Gajin in the Rappongi district. You're in LOS for 3 weeks and thinking about spending all your time in Bangkok? Where's your sense of adventure? Spend some time in Pattaya, it's only 90 minutes and 110 baht away. Also consider an island getaway for a few days. Aren't you coming to live a little? GFE can be anywhere, really depends on the girl.

MS, as my last post just suggested, BKK is, IMHO, more about the GFE than PTY, but the truth is, as thaiaficionado suggests, the GFE can be found anywhere, anytime, you just have to be open to finding it. It is all about clicking with the girl, wherever you happen to find her, or her you. I tend to think of BKK as being the more GFE friendly because BKK is a little more calm and normal, compared to PTY (where the girls and customers tend to turn it into too much of a party town in the long run, but fantastic in the short term). BKK tends to be more GFE because it has more falang who have normal jobs and happen to be in BKK for other reasons than P4P (less so PTY). If you meet a girl in BKK who likes you, she will not necessarily assume you are just there to party for a few days. For all she knows, you live there, and she may be able to turn you into a regular with any luck, or even a BF/sponsor. The perspective of the girls in PTY tends to be more short term (do you want to go upstairs?). So why would I, being the GFE addict that I am, need some time in PTY? Because I am also a serial molester who likes being able to spend an afternoon on Soi Sex molesting a dozen girls, f***ing two or three of them, and only spending 4-5,000 in an afternoon or evening. That is not really possible in BKK, not for that price at least. And, if you want easy girls, there are none easier than Soi Six. They make girls in Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza seem like distant prudes for the most part. I can always run the risk of being ignored in BKK, never on SS. But, admittedly, PTY's real pleasures may be wasted on (too much for) a newbie. A newbie in PTY runs the risk of being sucked into the bullshit of high end gogos on Walking Street. Or the hustle bars on Soi 7/8. And too scared by its perverse pleasures -- SS, DD, CC, and the odd beer bar here and there. BKK has more upscale soapies if that's your thing, and downscale, dirty, raunchy oily's if that's your thing (yes!). BKK also has better dance clubs, FL places, pool halls, restaurants, upscale malls, cultural sights, and "nice" girls on the streets and sky train. BKK is for living and breathing, PTY is for short-term partying and f***ing your brains out. When I come to LOS, I want both. My next trip to LOS I will be spending 9 days or so in PTY, a week in BKK before I exit. I will spend myself in PTY, so to speak, and "relax" back in BKK. I can't tell you what you should do, any more than anyone else on this forum can. You will need to listen to our advice and recommendations, and then decide what fits you best. Good luck.

Yeah, taxi in Japan is very expensive...and the traffic can be very bad.....so take the train out to town and back to the airport to make sure you dont miss your flight. Like others already said...you have to go to Pattaya if you are here for fun... Guess you are not to get to your hotel until mid-night or so....but you can still go out to check few things out after you settle at the hotel...things still going around that time.

Quote: from massageslave on 9:47 pm on Dec. 22, 2011 Lots of response with the idea of the phone thing, but the problem is that they don't appear to be cheap. Please keep in mind (or, learn for the first time here) that I personally don't use a phone in any shape or form... Voice, text, video, etc. Basically have no one to talk to anyway (I did mention 11 years without sex, right? There's a REASON for that)... So, I was shocked when everyone is talking about phones that cost a lot of money, etc. Basically, at this time, I am going to probably not get a phone at all, sorry. They DO have paper pads at the hotels, right?
Nokia sells a cheap phone for around 800 Baht.

I think the reason for the phone was to leverage the technology's features for the hearing impaired, speech2text with thai2english translation was a really good idea. I'll bet DD can configure an iPhone for that. Sure, there are paper pads but don't expect girls to read or write any English except their name.

For the phone, ask your friends or family members for their old one that use ATT or Tmobile there..People is upgrade to iPhone 4 now...so may have iPhone 3 for you to borrow. I see that Nokia phones are cheaper in US than Thai.

No, not at all on the phone thing, except the Duck trying to promote expensive Apple again. Having a phone you can text on is the only way you will be able to keep in contact with anyone. You will not be meeting any Thai girls that are up on the internet, but they all have cell phones, and text constantly. Most everything is spur of the moment here. Not many really plan ahead at all. Sure there are a few exceptions, but for the most part everyone uses their cell phone to keep in touch, and find out what, and where things are going on. You can get a nice cheap Nokia (I only say Nokia because they have one of the best battery lifes so you don't have to constantly plug them in) for about $20-$30, and it is worth it to have the ability to text, not because you are deaf, but because it is how everyone stays in contact here. If you meet a girl you click with, you will not be able to stay in contact with her without a cell phone. She will simply disappear, and you do not want this to happen. Another room option if price is a concern (with the Manhattan being to expensive), and still pretty much in the middle of things is the Ruamchit plaza (right on Sukhumvit at soi 15), or Ruamchit travel lodge (down soi 8 about 200m, by the park), at about bt400 cheaper, but you have to call them, and make your reservation directly, or you will not get the included breakfast (not buffet). You do not have to pay in advance if you call them to reserve. You can check them out after you get here, and walk up is actually cheaper than booking on th internet, just because of the breakfast. They are usually full if you want a room that day, but a few days advance reservation works. The cheapest island to go to, and have a blast is Koh Chang, and only 5 hours from Bangkok. It is the second largest island in Thailand, with all 5 of the beaches West facing for great sunsets. The bus to get there is bt280, and that includes the ferry RT, then it is bt220 back to Bangkok, with drop off at the BTS. White Sand Beach is the main town, and best beach area. You can get a room on the beach for bt500, but no food included. Motorbike rental is bt150 a day for a 24 hour day, you just buy the gas. It is a great cheap place to take any girl you find that you click with for a few days. The main activity is a 4, or 5 island snorkling trip lasting all day with food, water, mask, and snorkle include for bt650 ($22US). There are also elephant rides, treking into the interior, waterfalls, there are no roads crossing the island, only going around it. You can do, and see allot just driving around on a motorbike all day. It is a real nice area to escape to, and any girl you take will be totally amazed you even know about it. You get the bus at the Ekamai bus station right off the BTS across the street. The other islands mentioned are more expensive, and crowded with tourists, with major travel involved to get to them. Sure you can fly everywhere, as some will mention, but from your comments flying all over is not in your budget. Another good trip for a few days is to take the train in the morning to Ayutthaya about 1 1/2 hours away. From the train you cross the road, and there are 3 cheap hotels down the road to the left, then motorbike rental right across from the train station. The train is bt50 from Bangkok, with motorbke rentals at bt200 for the day with a map included. It is one of the ancient old capitals of Thailand, with lots of historical ruins, and with fun places to spend the evenings. Day trips from tour operators in Bangkok charge bt1200 for this trip, but you ride up in a packed minivan, and are taken around the same way. Taking the night train, or the night bus to the North is less than half the price of flying. Taking the train in 1st class sleeper, or second class sleeper has to be booked in advance. The VIP bus is the same way, but most of the time you can get it on the same day you want to go if it is middle of the week. You get on at 8:00pm at night (roughly with in an hour) then you are there around 8:00am in the morning, or earlier. It saves a room cost night which is more than the price of the night train, or night bus, and much cheaper than flying. They are comfortable as long as you do not book lower class tickets. 1st class, or deluxe bus is a huge step down from VIP. I would save any thought of going North until your next trip, as you want to understand what is going on, and how everything works first. There is enough to keep you entertained for 3 weeks just in, and around Bangkok for your first trip. Going to Pattaya by yourself the first time can be disasterous. You do want to go there with someone that has been there before, again mostly to show you around, and clue you in on the scams. There is much more crime in Pattaya, not that you would likely encounter any, but there is more of it there than Bangkok. Read the Pattaya news and it will show you. Keep those questions coming.

Most of those AT&T phones will be locked to AT&T, which can be a hassle, especially to someone absolutely not familiar with phones. As BigDUSA pointed out, the easiest fallback solution is to go for a cheap Nokia or Motorola phone, just for being able to keep up on texting. My very first trip I bought an 800 Baht Motorola cheap local phone (only works in Thailand) - I still have it, and it's chock-full of messages from Thai girls.

Exactly my point - yes, being able to text is going to be important, but my suggestion goes beyond that, including functionality that MassageSlave might not have considered yet. Forget thinking of it as a "phone" (that seems to be where the block lies), consider it a smart minicomputer with a built-in language translated that can fire off text messages as well.

I can not agree enough on Koh Chang - in my opinion, it's simply the best destination on so many levels.

DO. NOT. RENT. A. MOTORBIKE!!! Absolutely *EVERYONE* I know who's been to Koh Chang (including the locals there) has wiped out on their motorbike, rental or not. While I am sure that you will immediately hear people on here assuring you that *they* never wiped out on a rental motorbike, ever, trust me on that - the only reason why I never wiped out, is because I never rented a motorbike (if I need to go somewhere, I rent a car for a few days - 1000 Baht/$33 a day), otherwise many convenient destinations are within walking distance at White Sand. Yes, motorbike sounds fun - but aside from the pain of a wipe-out, you will also need to pay for damages to the bike, and that ads up quickly.

Yep, 100% agreed - DrLove also arranges Pattaya tours (hint) !
