Taxis to pattaya are availabe all over for 1350 baht fixed price. Ask your hotel, they will have one for you, I know it. There are taxi Services that are available for 800 baht. But for $10 are you gonna waste your time trying to find them. If you want top notch servive there are a variety of limos for 2500 baht. Drive you in a mercedes with water etc. I had that provided by the Hard Rock Hotel and it wasn't that bad.

Had an interesting experience today in the taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya. About halfway, we were pulled over by a policeman. WTF? Turns out he had a tourist in his police car who needed a ride. This guy had negotiated a price of 800, then after clearing the final toll booth, the driver demanded 1800! The tourist refused to pay, so the taxi driver dumped him and went back to Bangkok. The policeman asked if we could help this guy out and, of course, I had no problem sharing the ride.
