Hi guys, Coming to BKK next week and looking for a round of golf with a cute caddy. Probably staying in Pratnham area. Wondering how much I would expect to pay to play with the hire of clubs and green fees. How much for a caddy etc. Any recommendations. Thanks for your help

LocalYokul

it's called Pratu Nahm, means water door (or WaterGate)
pronounced PrahToo Nahm

It's almost city center, so you will have to go a long way to do any golfing

ExpatChuck, any ideas ??

Golf in BKK will likely be rather expensive since you will have to hire transport as well as all the gear. The transport alone, if you hire a car for the day from your hotel, will set you back around 2k baht.

Wait until you come to Pattaya, hook up with one of the bars that have daily golf sessions and go for it.

A round at Siam Country Club will cost you:

1,100 baht - green fee
200 baht - caddy fee
500 baht - club rental
500 baht - caddy tip (if she is good)
200 baht - water/cokes/snacks around the course

If you hook up with a regular bar, the transport is generally shared and, thus, very inexpensive or oftentimes free. Don't rent shoes as metal spikes are not allowed around here anyway. Tenny runners are fine.

Sorry but I can't help you much with BKK.

There are plenty of golf courses within easy reach from central bangkok.
I always get a taxi. Taxi fare is generally not more than 250-300BT one way to any course around Bkk & for many courses is a lot cheaper.Krungthep Kreeta is pretty close - too much water for me.
Muang Ake is up near the airport but very cheap for a round (800Bt) - reasonable condition & perfect for those golfers (like me) with high handicaps.
Every golf course that I have played in Bkk has been very good. I would think that the whole day would cost you around 3000Bt max. including greenfees, caddy +tip, club rental, taxi x2, and meal after.
Most courses will allow you to play but a few have members restrictions..you will need to check. Weekday green fee on an average-good course should be around 1500Bt I think.
I should be in Bkk next weekend - if anyone fancies a round of golf on Friday 12 Nov. please PM me. I warn you though that I am not good. I use golf to have a bit of a laugh & the craic with the caddies.

If the price is most important you can always play Unico which is a reasonable course and very cheap.

Couples: your are getting some good advise from the bros. If you like something different, try night-golf at Muang Ake Visa. Get a late tee-time and play under the lights when it gets dark. Totally different experience. After your golf round the resturant at the course has some really great food. Unfortunately, the caddies there leave much to be desired. Golf, eat, head to town for the usual night out and you will have a great day.
