After reading this forum for more than a year... here is my first post:
I am wondering about how the Bargirls (esp. in a gogo bars) assess their customers.
What do they check to decide to approach me or to not approach me?
Obviously you have the advantage on your side when you are not too fat, ugly, smelly etc.
What I mean is, what are the major criteria they take into consideration when scanning the crowd? What enhances your attraction (well, in the end its the money, but first impression about being sympathetic or not).
Is a long sleeve shirt better than a T-Shirt?
Somewhere I heard they look at the shoes (avoid sandals -> Kaoh Sarn Rd., etc.). What else?

Please realise that you are only a walking ATM........especially before you become a second timer or even a regular!
If you are clean, "good heart", look like you will pay her what she wants, and she will not be laughed at by her peers for walking up the road with you, then catch her eye and fill your boots!
There is lots of previous advice on technique here on the forum, but the best advise I ever read was "if she catches your eye and looks keen, then call her over"

Welcome to the board NINGNING.
Personally, I find that each BG seems to have her own criteria. Hansum looks, nice clothes, older, younger, taller, shorter, skinny, fat, built, lighter skin, darker skin, eye color, glasses, hair style, tattoos, earings, jewelry, nationality, language ability; they all attract different types just like you would imagine.
However, I would consider most of these traits as secondary to the girl's situation. If she's less than hot and/or needs the money for something she wants or a debt she needs to pay then she'll probably go with just about anybody. While if she is stunning and/or doing well financially she might be really picky, possibly declining to leave the bar at all. In most cases, the worst thing you have to fear is a starfish experience. Convincing the girl to take your money is usually the easy part.
If you still want to impress a girl who will probably go with you regardless of who you are, then try some of these suggestions before you walk in the door...
-> shower often
-> shave often
-> wear clean clothes
-> dress conservative
-> tone up / slim down
-> learn some Thai
Then, after you've made your pick...
-> treat your BG to food
-> take her shopping
-> take her dancing
-> take her to a nice hotel
-> take her out on holiday
-> repeat
Don't be surprised if you find out along the way that you mean absolutely nothing to this girl. It's a job, not a dating service. They probably didn't enter the P4P scene to satisfy any childhood dream. They're making ends meet while working with what they have. Simple as that.
One last thing. If the GFE is what you're looking for, I suggest you avoid BKK's gogo's and consider Pattaya and/or Phuket BB's instead. You also get the added benefit of girls who run up and mob the guys they find acceptable. Can't get much easier than that.

i only found out an answer (of sorts) on my last trip.
why did some girls ignore me?im young slim athletic hansum and english?the answer to this came from a half japanese former gogo girl in pattaya.alot of girls seem to like 40 plus year olds.the are more likely to sponsor/marry/get them out of the scene.some girls think that the younger ones are just after short times.where as the older ones are more generous.ive been with 30 plus bar/freelancers and some have told me about their sponsors.have shown me pics,they seem to really love them aswell.hoping they emigrate soon.mainly scandinavian guys.all the girls have thier different criteria for who they like,as we also do.

Thanks PopSecret, that is what I was looking for.
My idea was that everyone decides to chat s.o. up because of appearance... and smile (sure, money is the underlying must). So given most of the customers being similarly neat, clean... what is the particularly little but decisive element to make yourself outstanding, maybe even desired by her (as a rule compared to the average tourist) ?
Well, complying with the basic requirements I understand that coming closest to that extra is being esp. well groomed, neat and language skills for understanding - or one more lady-drink, *555*.
But I have to keep in mind that finally and always its the business prospect.

decent clothes, long sleeved shirts, good shoes, after shave and shaven, being generous and smile a lot does the trick for me.
also play mind games with them. make them to want you and you'd be amazed how even the most stuck up ones can by sweeties.
go in a special bar for some days, talk, spend some ladydrinks each time in, make yourself be seen and attractive but never take a girl with you!
you'd be amazed to see how they really start to get you after a couple of days, because it starts to get a challenge for them and you will be the trophy to show off to the other girls in the bar!

On my last trip, I kept to the normal pick up the girl where there was a mutual attraction; ie, she was hot and she thought I would pay well. After a couple of weeks of this, one does become bored. Now I made it a point to wear button down shirts, albeit they were short sleeved. I am not an ugly man, but I don't have that James Bond ability where every woman is instantly on her back (unless it's a BG we're talking about). Anyways, to add to what Griffin said, I decided in one bar to try to tip the scales. It was in Rainbow 2 where most girls are trying to wait for the rich Japanese overpaying tourist. Here I am an middle aged white guy vying for their attention. I made a good look around the room and found what I thought was the hottest lady there. She happened to be dancing. I went and stood right in front of her and stared at her for about two minutes. I did not look at the other girls and did not say anything. She kept looking back at me. Finally, I slipped either 100 or 200 baht in her boot as I waved her to bend down so she could hear me. I said, "come see me when you are finished dancing." I then turned and walked towards the back of the room without looking back. I never saw her again (just kidding). She came by after her set was over and I got her phone number from her. I asked to see her that night after R2 closed. I called her and met her on Suk at around 0230.
Was this difficult? Don't know, but I have been to R2 and had a girl refuse a ladydrink. I have read about other guys having the same problem. I found the hottest girl I could and somehow became intriguing to her. The funny thing is that I decided not to take her home that first night. She finally left and I thought she would be pissed at me for meeting her and not paying for ST or LT. Instead, the next time I went to R2, she came over to see me even though she was with this big Aussie bloke who kept giving me the evil eye. Apparently, he had BFed (bar fined) her the past few evenings. I never did BF her and may see if she still works there when I return. I still have her cell phone number.
So, what do they look for? I think it would be insane to try to figure out their thought process, but on this one occasion, my actions were not the ordinary buy you a ladydrink, how much for st/lt, I think you're pretty, etc. Good luck.
