Hi
I intend to make a trip in mid October to BKK. I can speak basic Thai. Where can I get a local male guide? I believe there are different types such as free lancer guides and hotel stationed guides....etc
What are the differences between them? What are the charges like?
All advice are welcome.

My advice is that you don't use a guide. Every place your guide takes you will be overpriced and he will get a kick back. You don't need a guide.

100 % correct, more info to be found here than from any guide - plus after the first night, I'm sure you will have a TG to guide you !
