Upon reading a post on this board regarding laundry recommendations near Nana Plaza the thought occured to me, where do the local Thai's have their laundry done. I've only been to two rooms where the bg's live and they were sadly depressing shit holes. I tend to doubt these places would have laundry facilities such as an apartment complex in the States. It wasn't a big deal to me but I was surprised at the cost of having my clothes cleaned in LOS. It was about as much as it is here in California. I know there are two pricing structures (Thai and falang) but my question still stands, where do the Thai's go or how do they get it done? I take it back, I was in three of the ladies rooms. It depresssed me. Each was like being in a flop house and yet at the same time the women always look so fresh and well groomed

DrLove is spot on with this one. The Hi/So have (of course) their maids and the latest machines to take care of it in house, but in most thai families, it is the wife that'll take care of the washing. Just a tub, add some water, detergent and lots of elbow grease. I hate to say it, but if there was an extended (week or more) power outage, most of us Farangs would walk around in fithly, smelly, dirty clothes, while the local girls would continue to have clean, freshly washed clothes. They may not have all the latest modcons, but they do know how to take care of themselvs.

Try and lavanderia on Broadway Ave. on South Central LA near my school. It's great. While waiting you can eat pupusas and tamales and get some ST action for 20$ from skanky HIV Figueroa ho's that are uglier than an old fat harry sweaty farang. When in LOS I prefer to have my clothes washed in an MP with all the bedsheets and pillow cases.

If you go walking into an area with a lot of apartments, you can find laundromats. Not real laundromats as I haven't seen a dryer in one yet. But outside of homes and in front of some apartments you can find washing machines that cost about 20 baht to wash a load. Remember to close the lid! At the 1st floor of many apartment buildings, you will usually find someone who does the laundry service. They charge about 400 baht for 60 pieces for locals. Farangs usually get charged extra, prolly for having to deal with the farang odor. A lot of these places will deliver after your laundry is done and they usually ask for 3 days to wash, dry and iron. Just for reference, if you are in the Huay Khwang area, you take the small streets near the Grand Hotel toward the apartment buildings, just walk around and you'll find plenty of places where they have these laundromats. Bring 10 baht coins. I still don't know where to dry clothes at yet though. I usually just wash at these places, then bring them back to the hotel and lay them out on my luggage to dry (usually takes a day to dry).
