I am getting ready to make my hotel reservations at the Ambassador (I always stay there) and I just checked the "girl/guest friendly" list and noticed the Ambassador is not on there anymore??!!
Was there a change in policy??!! If any of you can let me know or have stayed with recently with guest...I (and the ladies) would appreciate it!
15 more days and counting!!

RH, got nabbed once, about 2 years ago. Had to pay 500THB to the guy who took "massage lady" up to my room. But that was once, out of n times! Enjoy!!!

I am sad to report that I think girl friendly policy at the Ambassador has changed. From what I have been told, they now charge some 600B joiner fee unless you have one girl registered with you in a double. And even then they will verify.
Check me on this, but I think they are no longer a guest friendly hotel. It is too bad. Their 7000B/week rate was hard to beat given the enormous lobby and elaborate facilities they have there.
Omni and Woraburi on Soi 4 are both <2000B/night and have weekely and monthly rates I believe. Both clean with good facilities and a short walk from the NEP action.
Grand President next to Ambassador is also nice and not too hard on the budget.

i was staying at the Ambassador earlier this week for 2 nights, but I never took any guests back, however upon check-in, they confirmed my reservation as 2 people, and actually said to me, "your friend come later" to which I replied, yes...!
So, book a double to be sure.
I only booked this hotel as I made a very last minute booking, but i'm sure there are better hotels for less money..! The rooms are in dire need of refurbishment, and the bathrooms either need a good clean, or ripping out and replacing.
I wouldn't stay here again...!

You must have stayed in the Main Wing. The Tower Wing is much newer I beleive (I have seen a room but not taken one for a night because they are more expensive) and cleaner/nicer.

no, I did stay in the Tower Wing...
i dread to think of the condition of the main wing rooms...!
The room was ok, but just in desperate need of refurbishment, i'm sure when the hotel was first built, it was superb...!

I stayed there last month and registered my TGF with me. Every single time we pass through lift they checked our names.
The security guy in the lobby told me that un-registered guest should pay BT 600 joiner fee.
In Tower wing, anything Over 19th floor is in better shape. lower floor rooms are crap.
Not sure whats the situation in main wing.
In my opinion, with Joiner fee, the hotel is not worth for stay.
