Hi you guys are a wealth of info' and I'm hoping to get the good oil (oops) on this question.
One well-informed guy on this board says the only hotel for first-timers is Nana (and unless someone really REALLY thinks there's a better idea I'll go with that). He mentioned the bellboy getting him a girl on arrival to do a 2-hour massage for 600 b. Seems cheap (I pay about $150 in Japan for 1 hour GREAT nude massage/hj but no sex). There didn't seem to be any happy ending or turn-about and certainly no sex from the description. There may have been a small tip anyway as he's more generous than I plan to be.
So the question is, this seems like a perfect way to start the arrival experience but if I want a happy ending, or think she's just too good to let out of the room without a spin, what's the deal? Can I assume she'll offer a hj or bj towards the end with a grin? How much tip/extra should I have handy for this or is she expecting nothing but a 'straight' massage? In all other countries I've had a massage the girl makes the suggestion and quotes a price (usually huge) towards the end of the booked time.

That would probably be similar to an "oil massage" even if you don't want the oil.
Therefore, in addition to the massge charge, the girl will ask half way through the massage if you want the special. Prices are negotiable, but normal rates are:
HJ - 500 baht
BJ - 1000 baht
FS - 1500 baht
These are in addition to the 600 baht massage charge.

If one of the porters at the Nana is getting you a masseuse, you can be assured that there will be extras available. At 600B your porter is probably pocketing 100-200B.
I've done this twice (once at the Nana). One girl was sent by Sabai Sabai on Soi 11, the other came from another Suk MP. Both times the girl was just average looking; I wouldn't have picked either out of a liine-up/fishbowl. The one at the Nana seemed particularly greedy and wanted 1000/1500/2000 for the extras.
A massage is a very good way to start the arrival experience, but I prefer going to an MP and choosing a girl rather than having a blind draw. Even with a late arrival, I'd rather just wait until the following morning and hop on the BTS to Baron's.

Nana is the "first hotel" for a first-timer who is on a budget and doesn't plan to do anything except do the dirty.
The JW Marriott is the better choice for the same person who also happen to have more money.
Hotel massages don't always come with extras, and you should stick to the professional joints.

I remember that I ordered a massage 2 years ago at Nana Hotel. I received an oily massage and was pretty relaxed. As this was at the day of arrival in Bangkok, I was pretty sensitive towards the touches, got a hard on and turned around, grapped the old trout by her hips and pulled her on me. She began moving her body on mine while I undressed her with some quick moves. We ended up f***ing like maniacs and she didn't even wanted to have tip. I gave her 200 Bht nevertheless.

I've avoided the Nana hotel like the plague. Sounds like a complete dump.
Felix888, from your post, & as Mr.Alan & aristotl said, there are better (much) choices for you. The JW, Landmark, I've heard the Majestic Grande is pretty nice (it's brand new), President Solitare, and Swiss Grottino (about 6 months old).
I think the JW is probably the most expensive of this bunch, followed by the Landmark & President Solitaire (about US $86/night). Then comes the Majestic Grande (about US $65/night) and finally the Swiss Grottino (about US $48/night w/'net access).
All these places are completely girlfriendly. Even the Grottino, the least expensive, is nicely appointed.
Do some searches for these places. See what you think. Other places too, of course, but don't think you can go wrong at any of these.

Wow I'm always open to suggestions and will certainly look at these other hotels thanks, but 350 b for a massage AND BEER? This could only happen in an Aussie establishment! I mean was this a shoulder rub whilst sitting on the bar-stool or what kind of massage exactly? I suspect not 2 hours with oil on a big bed somehow but I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
So 200 b tip for extras on an in-room massage wouldn't be an insult? That's the sort of info' a newbie like me needs. BigDusa's comment does remind one of the old joke about an Australian's idea of a perfect woman - 4 feet tall, no teeth and a flat head you can put your beer on, lol - F.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Majestic Suites" as an alternative to Nana. Friendly staff and inclusive of breakfast. A sister property to the "Majestic Grande" which is the newer property. Either hotel would be an excellent choice. M.S. is a bit cheaper than M.G. and also closer to Nana. This is not a typical vacation. You WILL be spending a LOT of time in your room so might as well have a nice place.
