Please,
hold the flames. Did a search (maybe not a great one but I tried).
I always thought Patpong was a separate part of Thai. Then reading some postings I read where one guy went to patpong for girls and then was hanging out at nana. Totally confused. Is Patpong part of Bangkok? I have a Suk map. Where is it.

Patpong 1 and Patpong 2 are located perhaps 6-7 blocks up Silom Road heading away from Rama IV and towards the river. It is between Silom and Surawong Roads.

Patpong, now you have found it on a map, can be just a litle bit above where dreams come true. But you gotta be street smart to go there. If you are, nice BJ bars, 60 baht drinks in Queens castle next to Superstar up to 10:30pm, plenty of gogos and beer bars with more pussy than we all need. Top this off with music lounges, discos and, if you can find em, bars that will open to breakfast time at the hotel.
Damn fine stuff but ya can get ripped off if you are not smart.....

Just putting in my 2 cents worth.
Perhaps Tigert55 had the same "brain explosion" I had when a beginner in LOS. I kept hearing about Pattong a beaiiful fun filled place and Pattong a place to be carefull of bar rip-offs.
It was my third visit before I realise PATONG beach is Phuket and not the same as PATPONG which is in BKK in the area so NICELY described by expatchuck
Maybe the answer or maybe I just need more BEER???

Patpong is in bkk and about 10 mins taxi ride. Just tell the taxi driver u want to go to patpong and he will understand and get u there asap
