i was at 66 a month ago with a few thai friends and while yes, i'm sure you could pick girls up there, I found the place completely unsuitable. Poor quality extremely loud top 40's hip hop, shitty air con resulting in my being a sweaty mess (not so good for meeting the ladies) and lastly, the area is all set up with little tables that everyone stands around with their personal groups of friends and "dances" ie: hops back and forth from one foot to the other, in a tight circle. Maybe I went on a bad night...maybe I just have no game... but as a 22 yo guy whos decently attractive I found the whole place daunting to say the least.
although there were tons of fine ass girlies...which makes it worse I think, seeing so much you can't get...it's like christmas but instead of a new nintendo in the box all there is is a kick in the balls.

Used to be the same owners as Gullivers - a point to note when going to the likes of 66 / RCA, or even Dance fever, if you are obviously a farang on the make - you wont get far, however take a few Thai girls with you, and you will be surprised how easy it is to get a phone number or 3, especially when you girl is not looking, or gone to the toilet !

Sad to say my clubbing days are about history - nonetheless, Im sure the same tips apply -
#1. - You owe it to yourself to get out and about Thai joints, especially if you are here regularly or for some time.
#2. - Dont expect wonders, TGs falling over you etc. on the first visit - you need to build up a little credibility - remember many of the girls are students, and have other students looking on -
#3. re the credibility factor - yes, it costs $$ - but not alot. When you find a place that is your style, buy a bottle of JDs/JBlack whatever, cost you 1500-2000bt, but it looks good on the table, shows you are a regular, gets you known to the staff, and you get a card when you leave, which you can flash at TGs in a dept. store when asking them if they want to party, - and of course when you want to go out and funds are low- you just go back to that club, get your bottle back, and are only up for mixers -
#4. Get known to a doorman, waiter, etc.. I used to tip a waiter at Dance fever 200bt every time I went in, he would rush when he saw me comming, I never had to wait for drinks, I got the best table in the place, [ on the way to the ladies loo !! ] and he also knew to keep a table beside mine empty, and only seat a group of good looking TGs there -
# 5 Sure it takes some time, but working slowly along the above format - will result in some great results, eventually - of course you can always bolt of to nana disco before closing if there is no sign of any joy the night you are at a thai place.

It's not just you, I have been to RCA (slim, route 66, hip hop 2) several times with different people everytime which has consisted of young farang friends, black friends, thai and other asian friends. All of which are fairly decent looking and fit. The only one who had reasonable success was the thai friend who is 23 but he's a westernized (American born) thai guy who speaks fluent thai and has lived in thailand for a long time. Even then it's hit or miss a lot of times. I've gotten numbers there but never tried to followup for anything much. It's not a good place for pickup at all because most girls are there with their boyfriends or with a little drinking "group" that's pretty inaccessible with the music blasting and lack of thai language skills. It's not impossible but not worth the trouble. You can also try your luck when the lights go on after hours but then 75% of the girls are stumbling drunk and just want to get home  .

yes, this is a good idea, also works with fems of all types
