Well, a certain turn of event has led me to finally head to BK next week (after lurking for too long). I was a little torn whether to put this in "Newbies" or "Members Lounge" but since this will be my first time, I figured this might be best. I was thinking of spending my first couple of days in BK and then heading into Pattaya but I'm not so sure about the monsoon season. If there is anyone in Pattaya now who can shed some light, I'd appreciate it. Also, I have heard that next weekend, July 22-23ish is a holiday and was wondering how that will affect things during my trip. I really can't get around the timing but if no one is going to be around then I'll just go to the Phillipines or something and go to LOS later. Any and all information is appreciated.

Pattaya is pretty dry right now. It rains a little or a lot very briefly some days when it isn't raining at all. We don't really have monsoons per se but we do have some very heavy rains we affectionately call "frog drowners". They last anywhere from 10 minutes to three days depending on the weather. If you get rained on too much, call room service and have them send up a masseuse or a masseur (if you are so inclined) and enjoy the air conditioned comfort of your room. Seriously, don't let the weather cause you any concern. Come on down but be sure and use the Motorways.
