Yeah UTFSE, after 33 hits, I hit STOP.
I know this board is mostly about Thai girls, but I have a related question - cell phones. I have only 1 trip under my belt, but I talked to an LOS veteran, and his best advice was to get a cell phone in LOS with a SIM card. I can store the girls’ phone numbers, bar numbers, etc. No contract, about B1,200 (perhaps years ago).
Well, I’m coming back with 2-3 friends of mine, and communication is important. My U.S. phone won’t work, so I did a couple hours research. I think I need a GSM phone. I’m a computer geek, but I thought cell phones were something teenage girls grew on their ears during puberty.
Can someone jump start me? I read you can get an unlocked phone from MBK for about 70 USD, permanent number and minutes, but where and what model is best? Shopping really isn’t in my hormones. I like to zero in on what to buy, get it, and then go back to my hotel and take a nap or move on to a soapy massage parlor or go-go bar. In fact, why do I have to shop at all? Can I buy it over the Internet, charge the battery, and land with ammo in hand?

I bought the cheapest unlocked multi band gsm phone I could find on Ebay. Got 2 for $50us with charger.. When I arrived in LOS, I got a gsm starter kit for bt400 at pantip, and I was set.
use the search engine under the tech section, and you will find more info on this subject, namely the bands of the different companies.

I have taken my personal mobile phone to LOS many times, never had a problem, just slip in the SIM and away you go.

Take a BG LT one your first night. tell her you want to go to MBK 4th floor the next day and will she go with you. Look around with her and find a good deal on a new phone, there are hundreds of counters so look around alot. If you are buying 3, try to work them down for a discount.I got new phone for 1800B and a sim card with 400min on it for 2200B all in. Get them at the booth to get the card set up, load extra time if needed.

sim cards expire if you do not fill them up every few months, then you lose the number : (

True you number will expire, you can fill it up before you go for 1 year. I would advice you to get a organge SIM card they give you 400 thb for free to call for. Phone can be found for 1000 THB or less in MBK. But I never have any problems with my phones here. You can for sure sell the phone back to MBK when you leave or give it to a happy girl.

Dork! The number (YOUR number) on the SIM card will expire, not the saved phone numbers.

May not be a bad thing that the phone number expires.
Leaves you the option of contacting them rather then them annoying you when you have another squeeze.
