Being married, never messed around on my wife, but after 10 years, the temptation is great. Here's my simple question, I am very intrigued about going to Thailand for some mongering in conjunction with a business trip that's coming up. However: 1) I am scared to death to catch something and give it to my wife which would be disastrous; 2) I am also concerned that if I do this once (monger in Thailand), I'll get hooked and it will lead to more and more. I have read all of the threads here on this question of morality etc., but I have a succinct question for those with experience in this matter:
Is the experience worth the risks or should I just forget about it?

Yep, ruined or spoilt for life is most likely.
Depends on your home and wife set up and what it is like.
Try telling the wife that you are going to Thailand on business!!

I am a married guy who have been there and done that (and you don't want to know what I did with the T-shirt  ).
If you are prepared to risk your marriage and possibly your peace of mind, than go ahead and do it. It probably is the biggest rush I have experienced, but it comes with serious downsides. After you have been there it may occupy your thoughts so much that it makes it difficult for you to be happy with what you have back in the real world. It is great fun, but very addictive.

Probably be full of guilt and fear while butterflying in Thailand so that would ruin the experience (s) anyway.

1. Bring your own condoms and use them.
2. On your last day or next to last day in BKK, take some antibiotics, which are available from a pharmacy without a prescription. I would recommend a single 2 gram dose of Zithromax for STD’s. I don't recall which pharmacies have this, maybe Boots Pharmacy. There is a Boots inside the Emporium, and one in the Times Square Building next to the Sheraton, and many other locations. Zithromax is used to treat both syphilis and gonorrhea.
However, since Zithromax is not foolproof for STD’s (no antibiotic is foolproof) I would also buy some Ciprobay (made by Bayer) from Watson’s pharmacy that you can take a few days after your Zithromax. There are many Watson's around town and some are on the BTS platforms (I believe that the Phom Phrong BTS station at the Emporium has one). 500 mg per day for 3 days should be fine.
When taking these antibiotics, make certain you don't take any antacids, calcium pills, or vitamins with a lot of calcium or magnesium. If you take one antibiotic, do not start another antibiotic until at least 2 days after you stopped using the first antibiotic.

I have had several procedures related to my urinary tract, a prostate biopsy, and even had some wisdom teeth pulled, and a short regimen of antibiotics is standard procedure as a precaution for all these things, even though no disease is present.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
