Can someone tell me if I'm in Bangkok for 15 and 3 days will be in Pattaya, are there any other Islands or towns that I can visit to have inexpensive fun with a TG that might offer full service for $$ or for free. Anyone have an opinion ? Thanks

Hey brother BKB69, I'll be in LOS the last week in Sept. visiting my lady and I wanted to take her to Pattaya for a couple days, but for some reason most ladies in Bangkok don't really like to go to Pattaya. So she suggested we go to Cha Am instead and it looks like most of the ladies in Bangkok really prefer going there. I did some research on the place and I can see why. It's about 190 km south of BKK near Petchaburi (about a 3 hour bus ride). Beautiful unpolluted beaches, all the hotel rooms have sea side views, prices are very reasonable. Now I don't know anything about the nightlife activities there but this is suppose to be one of the kings favorite places to visit so I don't imagine there being a whole lot of gogo bars or massage parlors there. At least not the in your face kind. However if you should meet a Thai lady in BKK that you really like and you suggest taking her here for a couple days something tells me she wouldn't say no, and once there the word no would probably disappear from her vocabulary completely  . Is Cha Am supposed to be better than Ko Samet? Seems like a similar distance. I'm heading to Ko Samet with my TG the 13th-16th...
She says Ko Samet is really nice, laid back, and inexpensive...

Hey brother Z, I don't know anything about Ko Samet except that it's an island. I believe that there are a few threads in the forum topic section about Ko Samet. probably under Field Reports. My main reason for wanting to go to Cha Am (other than the boss has spoken ) is that they have a couple of very interesting caves there with large Buddha's inside that I want to see. The only other plus for me is that with the rainy season about to make it's presence known (although it's been pretty quiet there so far) I'm not too sure I'd want to be on an island if rough weather were to hit. To answer your question (you really thought you'd get away with something simple ) I don't think Cha Am is better, only different. They both have different points of interest. Depends on what your interest are. If you're back in BKK the following week don't forget to get in touch with me at Raumchitt Plaza hotel. We don't leave for Cha Am until Thursday 26th. Peace

This matches what I have always been aware of as well. Non-profesional TGs go to Pattaya a lot (usually for day trips).
Having said that, Cha-Am is a much better place for a relatively non-commercial, clean environment. Koh samet is a little more "touristy" but perhaps a little more scenic as well.

Hmmm Cha-Am, Hua Hin and Kho Samet are good choices for a weekend with a TG. However, in Cha-Am and Hua Hin you can find guesthouses for B/.500 and fancy hotels as well. Don't expect go-go bars in Hua Hin or Cha-Am. I couldn't see such a thing during my trips. However, there is a smallsih soi in front of the HILTON Hua Hin (ex Melia Hua Hin) crowded with cuties. Bar fine is B/.300 and TGs don't expect more than B/.800-1.000 LT.
Koh Samet is a nice place. An Island that can be reached either by normal loooong boat with economic fares or by speed boat. Nice palce for snorkelling and diving. This island is not polluted and the water is pristine. There are several beaches to which you can arrive according to your booking. There is a bunch of resorts in there and you should take a quick view of the island by speed boat once there. The scenario is pretty nice!!!! However, Koh Samet is not cheap. Thus, try to take your provision of bottled water and some snacks from the 7-11 before getting into the boat. Last time I had a trip (barbecue) with some friends to Koh Samet and we bought water and beer in the 7-11 next to the pier (as everybody did) and THAT was really a wise decision....We did rent a bungalow (6 people) and made the barbecue by using the sea-food we took with us from the local market before taking the boat....Hope this helps.

Is it koh samui or ko samet? If you are talking about koh samui then I can tell you about this island. I just spend a week there and nice place to relax and have fun
