Maybe a pretty dumb question by will the taxi driver know what i'm talking about? Or do I need to ask for something more specific?
Planning to go take a look round next visit.
Or is it better to go by BTS then get a taxi?

You are well advised to say only what is necessary to the cabbies.
In this case you could be a bit more specific and tell him: "Bpay RCA tii thanon Rachada kop" or "Bpay RCA tii soi Rachada kop" then keep quite. This would give him enough to go on.
