Hi,

I am coming to bkk, for the first time, thursday 9 feb, and reading this forum for almost 3 months. Wanna thank each of you for all the information I picked up in all the reports and answers, it's helping me a lot !

To get an idea, about how large distances are, if I start walking at sukhumvit road, from soi 1 till soi 33, how long wil it take ?

I will stay till the 16th in Bangkok, and like to invite any of you for a beer, when intrested

30-40 minutes, depending on how fast you walk, how many times to stop to look at the street vendor's products, how many beer bars you stop at, and how many times you stop to ogle (not google) freelancers.

Depending on weather, you might be pretty hot by the time you get to Soi 33. Luckily you are then only 5 minutes away from The Office or Lookie Lookie (or scads of other places along 33).

And if you don't want to walk, just catch the Skytrain at Ploenchit station, and drop off at Phrom Phong station. From there it is a short 1 minute stroll to Soi 33.

From NEP (soi 3, not nana station) to Soi cowboy (forgot the name of the station and this is soi 22? or so) the distance is walkable.
so you can walk from soi 1 to soi cowboy, which is soi 22?, but you can not walk to soi 33.
It is a really far way so take a taxi. taxi fare would be around 50B or BTS 30B?

The soi's are not evenly spaced and tend to be bunched together in lower suk area.

This I would guess that half way from Soi 1 to Soi 33 is in fact Soi 23

I personally would think twice about a walk from soi 1 to soi 11 and there is absolutly no way I would walk to Soi 33.

This wee treck could take you most of your holiday if you decide to visit some places on the way!!

As has been mentioned earlier, take the skytrain (BTS) and do the trip in aoner!

Cheerio
PS: What specific reason do you have for wanting to make the trip on foot anyway?

I've walked Soi 33 to Soi 1 several times.

In fact, I've walked Soi 33 to Siam Paragon a couple of times.

Its always fun to see what is going on around you while walking.

Of course, I love to walk and see the sights. Not everyone enjoys walking as much as I. If you start walking and get tired you can always jump on BTS and finish your journey.

You should now have enough information to decide how you want to get from Soi 1 to Soi 33.

As others have said, it is a long walk from Soi 1 to Soi 33, best jump a cab or you will be sweating buckets by the time you get there. Soi 1 to Soi 23 is more walkable, in fact sometimes better to walk as you may spot a pretty freelancer on the way. Soi 23 is the Soi Cowboy area by the way, if you survive crossing the main road at Asoke.

Instead of crossing Asoke you can always use the BTS underground and cross under Asoke.

It is a long walk. And, there's not a lot to see from Soi 23 to Soi 33.

All depends on how much you sweat and how much you like to walk.

Thanx all of you for the answers
I like to walk indeed, I don't swaet that much, an can handel the temperature, as my original ocupation is the bakery

Eventhough, I popped the question, most of all to get the perspective, about distances between the soi's, and the lenght of sukhumvit road.

I am exiting to go, just in 6 day's Is there any member one this forum, who likes to have drink ? I will arrive on the 9th, and be in bkk till the 16

Cheers !
