Hello All,
I am coming to Bangkok within the next 3 weeks, its a long time ago I have been in Thailand, and ask myself - "What is a better place to go to catch a girl, Gulliver or Beer Garden.
My last visit in Beer Garden is almost 5 years ago, and that time the girls were very annoying - means I just got in and they start coming and coming, I not even had placed my first order.
Is it still the same? I was in the early afternoon in the Beer Garden - 6PM.
Gulliver is new for me. Are the girls in Gulliver also annoying or did I just catch a bad day in Beer Garden?

lots of them are the same girls that go back and forth,
Gullivers is more a bar and pool hall, enclosed and Air Conditioned,
Beer Garden has some real dragons in there, but there are some nice ones too,
or walk across the street and sit at the food court and check out the walking parade.....
its all fun

The girls in the Beer Garden, dragons and cuties, generally don't approach you if you don't give them the eye or some slight encouragement, and if they do, they always take "no" for an answer and move on. This is LOS. Relax and enjoy. It's all good.

Guess you were a real hansum man back then. But just goes to show that 1 man's annoyance is another man's enjoyment...
But seriously, I second Quim: I go there a lot, and have not been bothered all that much (of course, I'm not a hansom man any longer). OK, maybe the girl sitting next to me will 'cold call', but unless you're giving out vibes of interest, they won't bother you; wastes their time too.
As Quim says, they quickly pick up on the fact you're not interested and move on.

thx for your infos. I guess I just had a bad day or a desperate houswife, I will visit the Beer garden again.
Even 5 years ago I was not that handsome, OK much more then now since I turned 50.

I've had more luck in the Starbucks (opp Landmark), than Beer Garden - everytime I go to BG I think they are holding a Ms. Dragon Competition for the wierdo Swiss and German guys who think Songkran shirts are fashionable....

One bit is missing here: the number of girls in Gulliver is only a fraction of the number of girls in BG... even if you don't count the BG trolls in...

Not really an expert in either place but my only trips to the Beer Garden (2, maybe 3) were so disappointing as to be beyond a normal level of disappointment and verging on jaw dropping amazement on seeing both the women and the men (how ugly and unappealing for the former and how sad, badly dressed and down trodden for the latter). Guess I am in Romelands camp on this one.
Gullivers I know better and although it clearly is a pick up place of sorts, my impression is that most guys arrive with the days catch already in tow. Certainly, I have only ever been there with someone, or, to be strictly accurate, to meet someone there, and I was not aware of lone girls on the lookout for single men. Groups of girls go there for a drink though, and doubtless one could easily be enticed away from her mates. (If you have the balls to risk the cold 'get lost' stare that might meet you should you approach).
Spasso is supposed to be a place to find girls if you can afford it, although, having said that, I have just arrived back from dinner in Spasso with a hiSoc girl friend, and it was only 1/3 rd full. We left at 10.30, which is too early for the late crowd I suppose, but I was surprised that on a Friday night at 10.30 the bar area was 100% empty! Seriously, nobody other than the bartender.
