Thanks to everyone for the good advice to my last post. I have decided (for now) that I will stay in Bangkok for the duration of my stay.
I've read a lot about MP and the best time to go there but what about Nana and Soi Cowboy? It seems that before midnight is best but when do these places get busy?

They get busy when the punters are there, try Cowboy one night than Nana the next night
I would hit Cowboy first many bars and there are some good shows!
I'm sure other members can fill you in on times, or contact Dr Love he knows all the latest info.

ec1990, the best time to visit the gogo bar is after 9 pm. Not too early as some girls have not even gone to work yet. They love going to work late. Some bars do open early though. If you want to check out the bars in the afternoon, you could try Soi Cowboy, but don't expect too much. Actually, at that time of the day, you are better off wandering into Beer Garden on Sukhumvit Soi 7 or try Morning 2 Night at Sukhumvit Soi 4 just before Nana Plaza.

on some trips that I felt I needed to be especially bad, I would stay at Penny Black on Cowboy. Yes, I stayed in a short time hotel. I don't remember a lot, those types of trips tend to be real benders.
I always found it interesting to walk out of the elevator onto Cowboy. Never had to go far, booze and girls always available.

JW, that's exactly that kind of place that TD likes. The more banging on the headboards the better.
In fact, wasn't that moldy place on the WS in PTY you chose virtually a short time hotel... 
I too am fascinated by the thought of living right on Soi Cowboy, but I am not sure I could deal with actually "sleeping" in a short time hotel. Of course, with enough booze and enough women around me, I suppose I could do anything.
And no, Thailife, I don't want to pee on anyone, or have anyone pee on me

Q, the place in Pattaya had the look/feel of a ST hotel much like PB Hotel but it also has character... OK, maybe not but it is right on Walking St and I was a prune by the time I left, which is why I want to stay on Cowboy to see how the experience compares. But if you want the ultimate experience, it is to stay in a ST hotel on Soi 6 Pattaya, now there's a Hall of Fame FR waiting to pop.
