I trying to get intouch with brothaz already there or heads that will be going there Jan 2003.
Does anyone know how to make contacts outside of this forum, to friendly whorehunters who are willing to dish out some live streaming up to date information...?
Im going solo in Jan 2003 and i have a couple of agendas beyond the girl scene,
1. distribute some music(hip Hop/house) to local dj's
2. GARMETS..having shirts made in factory (lrg quantity)
3. English speaking girls that may want to serve as tourguide,, only tourguide..
4. thai boxing instructor..

I might be there but not sure. If this is your first time throw all that out the window because,
1) you will be shagging your brains out
2) you should cut your teeth there for a week before doing any business like shirts
3) trying to ship shit out of the country to the USA might prove disappointing when your shit is taken at US customs
4) you will be shagging your brains out
5) get a Thai girl that speaks english as your tour guide but why not a bargirl that you shagged last night. She will get to enjoy it too. Just because you are hitting it does not make her a worse tour guide
6) very few dj's will want your hip hop unless you go to the known hip hop venues where there are only a few in Thailand
7) boxing instructor? How long do you plan on staying?

On the distribution of records; by all means give it a try, but I strongly suspect that Mykal is right.
I worked in LOS as a DJ and after that I managed discos and bars. I knew many foreign DJs who would come here to work/party. We used to have people bring us great records and afetr the initial excitement of having new records from overseas, and maybe trying a song or two, the Thai DJ put the records away and went back to the old stuff. Don't think that just because you are bringing stuff from US that the Thais are going to be suddenly turned on to your music. They get all the styles but the market just isn't there for Hip Hop. Many, many peope have brought records and tried what you want to. (Years ago all the records had to be brought by foreign freinds of DJs or ordered from the Marine gaurds at the US Embassy they had a nice little sideline).
I think Mykal gives great advice on the other stuff too.

PBD714 and I recently talked about our 1st visit to LOS (we didnt go together). It was comical on how similar both our experiences were. We both had dossiers 10 inches thick on where to go, what to see, banks that gave the best exchange rate, Massage Parlors to hit, which Go-Go bars to go to, which Go-go bars to avoid, #s of girls that looked hot on the websites, avoid the "upstairs" bars in Patpong, etc. Well, all that went out the window as soon as you arrive, PBD stayed at Nana and he told me he didnt even leave the hotel for about 3 days straight! He ate there, drank there, picked up girls at the disco, picked up girls in the lobby, picked up girls in the elevator, etc...
Its good to have a plan but I would suggest you establish a relationship with some of the brothers on the forum and have them help you out and take you around. BKK is an overwhelming place and for a newbie to maintain his composure enough to do all the things you want to do on the 1st trip, you need to be one cool customer. But you will have the time of your life, thats for sure.
